Not sure what you mean here, I don't recall anyone bashing the OEL signing. I believe I am quoting myself when I say it was the best day in franchise history.

Sorry, poorly constructed on my part. I recall comments (perhaps not here?) suggesting that OEL was a sell-out for money given that he signed long-term for a languishing team. Thought it was ridiculous at the time and precisely because the Yotes have good young prospects, as you mentioned. Looking past the obvious names, Merkley, Fischer, Steenbergen, Joseph and Madsen is a fairly decent prospect group.
