I love how some goalies got left off the list to shoehorn Andersen in....the Steve Mason of Blue and White.

It would be interesting to see what Korpi and Merzlinkis can do for the team next year ... i'm not worried.

Even though he's probably approaching the end, to me, Lundqvist is still a top-5 goaltender in the East. He's still got some juice left. Watching him play behind that defense last year was just...ugh. It gave me bad memories of the Rangers defense from 1999-2000, when we had guys like a crazy Pilon, a gimpy Leetch, an over-the-hill Lefebvre, and some guy who was supposedly Kevin Hatcher, but could not possibly have been, because he was that awful. In fact, I would have taken that 1999-2000 defense over last year's group. And I should never, ever have had to type that sentence.

he wasn't going to sign with the Flyers...

the mistake was Bryz and Bob was just a victim of that situation

Shhh, don't mention facts. Stick with the narrative.

It’s impressive how far Murray fell last year.

what's your problem man?, the leafs d was terrible defensively and andersen was our mvp on a team that finished 6th overall. how would he not be one of the top 5 goalies in the eastern conference? While others like Holtby barely even held on to the starting job (during the season) and price had a terrible year (although i agree with tanner that he is likely to bounce back). I'm really getting sick of all the negativity on here ruining a good site. The leafs get bashed on here constantly for zero reason and all we do is stay gracious and bite our tongues. shameful

What a joke! Murray has more Stanley Cup rings as a stater than all these goalies combined yet he can't make the list. YEAH EXPERTS!

The bloggers are probably scared off by last year's performance. Although 2016-2017 Matt Murray is probably a top 3 goalie in the east. If he can channel that back, he certainly belongs here.

#1 Mrazek
#2 Lehner
#3 Anderson
#4 Hutton
#5 Howard

Since when is Anderson a bad goalie? Because of one mediocre season?

It wasn't his best year but Bobrovsky, really? How about actually winning a playoff round first before you are declared the best goalie in the east.

Easy to see that the franchise is owned by TSN/sportsnet... all the over-coverage of them is way bigger than their performance past '67.

I sometimes dream about him as a Flyer still, but then he takes his mask off and it ends up being Brzygalov in disguise and I wake up screaming in terror with a cold sweat.

I would put Hotlby #1 after that SC run. Price & Lundqvist had similar problems to deal with in front of them. Vas, Bob, Murray

That the Flyers traded Bob is bad enough .... but for 3 picks none of which was a first??? 2 fourths and a 2nd .... All time bad trade.
- dozerD10

I hated that trade then and hate it now, but they had no choice. Bryz was signed for way too much/too long (and this was pre-buyout) to feasibly keep Bob around which cratered the Flyers leverage.

Also, these rankings are a joke, where is Carter Hart?

You're so happy Andersen was on there so you could comment. If he wasn't on any of the lists you still would have mentioned the Leafs. 😂
