lets hope they win a few extra games to keep the directionless train going to nowheresville - senstroll
a few more 3rd and 4th line signings at 2nd line dollars should help
Gudbranson on the power play?
it will be interesting to see if any of the rookies/prospects match the hype - Leafs were lucky the year they introduced 7-8 rookies at one time into the lineup... because a few of them are bonafide stars... remains to be see if the Canucks kids continue to move forward or fade.
I'm genuinely interested to see what they end up doing with Virtanen. Rumor has it he has similar challenges to Galchenyuk in Montreal - you know "distractions"...
I'm so glad the Canucks bi-passed Nylander to take Virtanen |

Oilers won't make the playoffs unless Klefbom or Nurse turns into a number one or Talbot goes into Vezina mode like he did the last time they made the playoffs. |

The issue is, why should the leafs offer by far the best package for karlsson? We haven't heard of anything remotely close to nylanders caliber being offered for karlsson. If we are trading for karlsson, it should start with liljegren, not nylander. - matt1337
Of course it should "start" with Liljegren but that probably won't get them to budge because Liljegren isn't an NHL player yet and he won't keep them out of the lottery, nor is he anywhere near good value for Karlsson. They'll just keep waiting. And then somebody else will make a half decent offer and Karlsson will be gone and the Leafs will have missed out on a tremendous opportunity to fill a glaring hole in their lineup. |

Its an overpayment.
And then you want to add old and slow players?
Are you such a Boston fan that you want to ruin the leafs this much? - Fakepartofme
Top 5 D, RHD, two time Norris winner for the Leafs 4th best forward, pending UFA and a late 1st. Not even close to an overpayment.
The Leafs have plenty of speed and skill, and adding Karlsson would only add to that, but a little sandpaper on the 4th line helps too. They can't just have all of the same type of players. I get that guys like Hartnell and Brouwer are older but 1 year deals don't ruin the team. Hartnell still scored 13 goals with 11 min a game. As a 12th or 13th forward, the experience he has and the grit he plays with, it wouldn't hurt the team at all. Brouwer is a big body, has won a Cup, brings an element the Leafs don't currently have. Above both of them, if Rick Nash is available, he's another big body who can help the Leafs top-six on a 1 year deal. |

As a 4th liner, on a 1 year deal, who cares? He's a physical, big body player. The Leafs have almost zero of that in their line-up. You gotta have a couple crash and bang kind of guys. |

Ya missed out on overpaying in a trade for an older expensive player.
Its not happening buddy, no one in leafs management is dumb enough to do that imaginary trade.
Let it go. |

He's 28, far from old. It's not an overpayment because he's a two-time Norris winner who can score 70-80 points and he fills a need on the team.
Nobody in management is "dumb" enough to improve the team? That's a shame. |

He’s shown to of bring every flame he’s played with down....he not only sucks but he is a black hole whenever he is on the ice.
He will get a PTO and will either go to Europe or sign a league min contract and be sent down after 1 and a half games in the NHL |

Must be why they signed Tyler Ennis, one of the smallest, pooptiest players in the league. |
