I think he’s confusing Therien at the end of his career with Therien in his prime. At the end, he had lost a step and was pretty bad. In his prime, he was solid. Was he a legit top pair guy? No, not really but he was what they had to work with. However he was a solid top 4 guy who excelled in the PK. To put him on a list of the worst Flyers of all time is simply asinine. - BiggE

I have acquired the rights to Scott Kingery and JP Crawford in my fantasy league. I get to carry them over for free next season so long as I roster them through the remainder of the year.
I don't think Crawford is worth it and will probably try to pawn him off on a phillie loving schmuck in my league, but Kingery interests me still. That said, I really dislike what they are doing with him and his development this year. It is odd |

Kingery is like Kapler's Konecny, except Konecny is way more productive and his coach poops on him more.

I hated Bundy as a player. The ONLY guy he played well against was Jagr...inexplicably. But for the most part, he was nothing more than a pylon. He couldn't skate, didn't have much of a shot, barely hit anyone....granted, didn't take many penalties. But the guy was a TURNSTILE!
...But Bundy the color analyst? Love the guy.
Fine...you want me to replace Bundy? I raise you Adam Hall. - Hckygoalie31
First of all that representation of Therien as a player is completely inaccurate. Secondly is it a suck list or a list of player someone doesn't like?

Kingery probably needs to go down and see a lot of pitches and work on his hitting. After they added Cabrera it's kind of hard to find a spot for Kingery to play every day imo. |

Provorov doesn't have enough time to make the lists yet. In a year or two he'll probably be in the top 5 of those lists if his career continues on it's trend. - dragonoffrost
I'd be surprised at that.

In my opinion Hakstol has handled Konecny perfectly and has made him into a better player. I would bet that Konecny does not not feel that his coach has poop on him at all.

the only specific memory I have about Riley Cote is when he dropped that guy Roy easily and Roy was freaking the (frank) out afterwards. Like an absolute mad man. - Ftown19125
Probably because Roy was the first guy to lose to Cote
Cote offered absolutely nothing. |

Wow!
I can’t believe Chris Therien has a stereotype. I’ve heard this “He only plays well against Jagr” the past 20 years. To me this is an example of one person says something and after a bunch of people piggyback on it. Like the odd hatred towards Nickelback everyone oddly focuses in on.
You don’t play on the top pair with Eric Desjardins for years if you are a useless player. Especially on a team that consistently made the playoffs.
This reminds me of the argument about how Lappy should be fired because the PK is passive. All climb aboard the one point of view train. Clear some freakin pucks!!!
Also, outside of acquiring Adam Hall late in his career, what was so wrong with Adam Hall? I wish we had a young Adam Hall on this team right now!! |

Just on D, off the top of my head: Rick Lapoint, Willie Huber, Bill Root, Kerry Huffman, Yves Racine, Karl Dykhuis, Ryan Parent, Luke Schenn, Pavel Kubina, Brandon Manning and Radko Gudas are all much worse players than Therien was in his prime. - BiggE
Willie Huber and Racine played well as flyers. |

I really have no idea though because I hardly pay attention to what’s going on with them other than fantasy relevancy. He could be named Drift [418] for all I care |

Really, a lot of the 06/07 team. They had a decent on-paper team, but they were terrible outside of the top line.
Mike York
Randy Robitaille
Kyle Clader
Dmitry Afanasenkov
Alexei $hitnik
Ryan Potulny
Todd Fedoruk
Derian Hatcher
Petr Nedved
Denis Gauthier
Frederick Meyer IV
Mike Rathje (sparingly, thank god)
You could do a decent Suckmore of York, Calder, $hitnik, and Rathje, and that even leaves off Nedved and Gauthier. - jmatchett383
Afanasenkov scored a bunch of pretty goals if I remember correctly? He wasn’t that useless? Maybe I’m way off. I would like to submit Nikos Dimitrakos, Mike York, Michal Sykora, and Matt Walker. Runner up Mike Comry. |

Niko Dimitrakos?
I mean, that dude was a 5th round pick by the Sharks and he just didn't work out.
He's not who I'd put on a Mt. Suckmore.
Mike Comrie, OTOH, is an interesting choice and should be considered. That dude had hype and he sucked. |

I have the up most respect for Derian Hatcher. Yes he played on the 06/07 team but he also played on the 07/08 team. The Flyers went from last, to eastern conference final, which is Remarkable. Hatcher was a big part of the rebuild. |

Total warrior, he played through crippling knee pain in the 08 playoffs. His knees needed to be drained constantly that spring and eventually had to be replaced. |

Most "best" lists are pointless, they are more who's hot now lists. Remember when Aaron Ekblad was proclaimed "one of the top defensemen" in the league only after his rookie year?
Lists are based off of zero standards or rules, just who is trending in the media and tagged with what-ifs. Philadelphia is not Canadian media friendly IMO, otherwise people would of figured out the Broad Street Bully hockey as been long gone for decades.
P.S. Ghost is more popular because his stats pop more and has more fancy to his game.
I remember playing a tournament up in Quebec in my teens, expensive as poop too, and there was this one player I can not remember his name...something Frenchy. Kid was good, very good stickwork. I will always remember this one play he made. He came out of the D-Zone and someone passed the puck up to him, he went and beat a couple players then made a sweet drag move around one of the dmen. All alone on the goalie and smacks the post. All I heard from this kid for the rest of the game and after is how he destroyed us and made us look foolish, yet he never scored. I ended up with a rebound goal, a terrible ugly goal, and I believe we won.
Well some people don't judge hockey players on what they do, it's all about how they look doing it...even if you miss the net. - Glak18
Exactly. Speaking of missing the net, guess which defenseman leads the NHL over the past two seasons in percentage of total shot attempts that completely miss the net? Give you a hint. He's in the "Top 20".

Because he isnt in the Hockey HOF? - MBFlyerfan
A lot of American teams have had to acknowledge their players who will not make the HHOF because good players get regularly snubbed. Induction classes were bigger during the original six era, and when any hockey outside of the NHL basically didn't count. Not a good reason. |
