Based on what? His rookie season he played reasonably well the first half of the season as a bottom pair guy, was lit up in a top 4 role when injuries happened. Last year he lit lit up in the top 4, loved down to bottom pair and did fine but couldn’t find any of the offense.

He’s a bottom pair guy, that could maybe produce more offense.

He had a bad year, was not getting support from the coach, had low quality D partners when he had to play with anyone other than Tanev. I'm not saying he's a legit top 4 Dman necessarily but he is a pretty good bottom pairing guy that had a bad year. He will start putting up points again this year given the opportunity. I think he still has the chance to turn out as a middle pairing guy.
