By the end of the year, the Canucks could have their last 3 1st rd picks in the lineup. Finally some hope. Only 2 of their last 5 1st rd picks have played a game. (obi QH doesn't really count) and 1 is JV who hasn't exactly been a difference maker.

We are finally gonna see some hope. I'm excited for the season. But still hoping for a bottom 5 finish.

This organization has no weakness. They are set at every position, it's only a matter of time before the mentees take over from the mentors. It might take 20 or so games, but this team is going to surprise doubters like yourself.

I think that is the way we need to go is through the draft. The game is changing. Canuck fans need to be patient.

I see comments like bringing back the same crappy D. I think by the end of the year OJ and Hughes will be a Canuck. We drafted Woo he needs time.

We have some good kids in the pipe but we have to wait.

The only way I see someone trading a guy like Fabro is if it does involve Jake. I am not sure the return value of Edler Tanev and Sutter anymore but I don't think it involves a first.

The Wolverine's last regular season game is on 2nd March, and if they advance to the regional championship, that runs March 29th - 31st, with the Frozen Four scheduled for April 11-13th in Buffalo. They seem a good bet to get to at least the regionals, given their returning depth, including Hughes.

The Canucks play their last regular season game on 6th April at St. Louis, and only 3 games in April (2nd @ Sharks, 4th @ Preds, 6th @ Blues). It is very unlikely they make the playoffs (understatement).

Would they sign Hughes and play him in a couple of games next April, allowing him to burn a year of his ELC? Possible...just seems unlikely to me.
