I'm genuinely exciting about one Canucks prospect and you're trying to take the wind out of my sails, I can't win with this franchise - LeftCoaster

Boeser is awesome, when he shoots it's pure pleasure, but he's not a flashy player. I get excited when he's on the ice because I know he gonna get scoring attempts. Does that help |

Right Hand Forward (Wing) - VANTEL
He's a left shot forward, but plays right wing, so you confused me there. I'm easily confused the older I get. |

I know I am probably wrong on this but I think Gagner and Granlund are the ones that have to prove themselves this year.
I think Green will eventually give the job to Leipsic and Gaunce . I think he will start with Gagner and Granlind and if they are not producing will switch to the other two. I think he will favor the youth long term but give those two older players one more kick at the can to prove themselves. |

I know what you meant originally but the fact that he can score on any given shift makes him exciting for me. I go into each game thinking he can score so that is excitement.
I do know what you mean though.

If he did play Left side I would be very happy but he does play RW.
Pettersson Hughes Boeser would be a nice first line

Benning just singled out Leipsic and Goldobin as players that need to take the next step and prove themselves. So I'd lump them in there as well.
“ This is kind of the breaking point for some of these guys,” he said of Nikolay Goldobin, 22, and Leipsic, 24. “They have to take the next step.” |

I don't see either one on the team by the end of the season. |

I think Leipsic has a shot . I don't feel as strong for Goldobin . He might be on his last chance too

To be honest, I'd rather he'd have gotten draft picks than this continual pattern of picking up castoffs. Nothings really worked as of yet. |

I like Leipsic . He has as much of a chance of playing as some fourth round pick

I like him too, as I mentioned the other day. I guess I'm just wishing they'd have been left a valued asset they could've traded for a few first round picks. Like the Flyers did with Brayden Schenn.
But who am I kidding, Benning would've never traded him. He'd be trying to compete with him. That's what happens when the previous GM leaves the team with no depth. |

Benning tried trading Tanev for a first round pick the offer was not there. Canucks do not have an all star roster so teams won't be lining up to give a second round pick for Gagner.
Jake or OJ are two guys that in the future could be traded for value but it does not make sense at this time. No one wants our scraps |

You talk like Granlund is a grizzled vet and Leipsic is a young prospect. They're only a year apart in age |

That's why I said I wish they'd have been given more depth, ie better players, so they could've gotten a few more first rounders. Kesler's been the only player he's been able to get another 1st round pick with. |

Part of it is Bennings fault (Hamhuis ) and part of it Gillis fault ( NTC/NMC) |

Good morning.
Granlund had a good season before last season and last season he was given more defensive responsibility but wasn't able to do much offensively.
I'm not sure if it is all on him, can't remember anyone playing with him that did any more.
We have so many complementary type players who depend on line mates or better players to push the play. Gagner doesn't drive the play but can up his game with better players.
We need more depth. |

Thanks Carol, great job as always
Boeser's next contract $ doesn't matter, the Canucks could pay him $9m, they have so much cap space it isn't even funny. |
