Lehtera is roughly as important as my morning deuce, but Weise doesn’t rate nearly that high.

Thoughts? I have said for the past 3 years that we need to buck tradition and go with single logo.

Hockey News: It’s the end of an era, as the Montréal Canadiens are going with a single logo at center ice for the 2018-19 season, instead of the two they’ve had for many, many years. The Flyers are the only team left with double logos at center ice.

He was taken off the top line to spread the offense around -- a risky move, but one that worked in this case. The Flyers had been virtually a one-line team in terms of getting production. Konency didn't start scoring until he moved to the top line, Patrick was feeling his way through the first half (and had a concussion to deal with along the way). Simmonds had a huge first week of the season but then struggled. They needed to do something, and when nothing else seemed to be working, they moved Voracek to try to spark another line.

Since Konecny started scoring almost immediately after the switch, the top line really didn't skip a beat. However, it's worth noting that before the change, Couturier (who was benefiting from a lot of chances set up by Voracek as well as Giroux) had more goals than assists. After the change, his own goal pace slowed considerably but his assists picked way up because Konecny is more shooting-oriented than the pass-first Voracek.

I think you misunderstand the question. Voracek once lead this team in points and was top ten in the league in points by season’s end (I wanna say four years ago). How does a first half with Coots and being taken off that line translate to his best season ever?

Exactly. I still think, at least among the forwards, no one is more important than Coots. Always out there during the last minute of a game, plays in all situations and plays a ton, makes his linemates better and while not as good as Giroux he’s no slouch on faceoffs either. While the pp may run through Giroux (though I think Ghost is just as important), I don’t think the drop off would be immense if Patrick had to fill in for G in that spot.

The only guy that rivals Couturier for being the guy the Flyers can’t afford to lose is Provorov. I shudder to think how this D group would look without him.

- BiggE

This is where I disagree. Yes, defensively when holding a lead Couturier is the most important guy.

When we’re down a goal and wanna tie up the score, it’s arguable that Couturier will be out there to tie the game up with so many weapons. You could make a case that Giroux will be a lock to be out there in both situations. Giroux is both defensively and offensively capable and the best faceoff man on the team.

He did?? I didn’t even notice.

Edit

Oh wow, he did. Which kinda makes that season four years ago a disappointment because he was leading the league in points for over half that season and the nhl points leader only had 93 points. I still don’t see how Couturier should be rewarded credit for Voracek’s production if he only played with Coots for half the season.

I think there is very few question against Couturier being last season’s MVP but I think some of you are putting too much stock into it.

The story was good, but the gameplay is too repetitive.

The series that has gone to poop is AC. The shift to RPG style gameplay is just asinine. Personal thing, but I despise RPG’s.
