I think with all these prospects and our current roster, i think all will be very surprised that isles are better than everyone will think,
I think its comical that experts thing for starters Tavares will suddenly vault to 90+ players playing with Marner and Hyman. I mean is that a significant upgrade over Lee and Bailey. Has Tavares getting better or is he slowing down? I think its the latter.

News Flash - Matthews is in 3rd season and already better than him. all the people that said tavares wasnt surrounded with alot of talent during his tenure as isles. Last year he had Barzal, Lee, Eberle arent enough talent?

Here are 5 centers better than JT right now - McDavid, Crosby, Malkin, Matthews, Scheifele, Stamkos, Kopitar, Benn, Seguin, bergeron, Mckinnon, Barkov, Eichel. i probably missing more. those are just off top of my head.

Here is a prediction - Jack Eichel will have more points than Tavares and will be top 5 in NHL this year.

Tavares can easily get 90 this year. You are basing it off one lines. Last year any team best defenders would just lock down on JTs lines, in Toronto top defenders will focus on Matthews and JT will load up on his typical assists and Power Play points. Of course I don’t want any of this to happen. But it’s not crazy to be a conversation.

Did you have a stroke while writing this. Has anyone checked to make sure this guy is okay?

Haha. That’s funny in my mind I thought there was 5. Instead I rattled off 14 guys I think are better

Hard to say. on Isles JT was the #1 center (well until 2nd half last year). He was the guy that saw the puck more than anyone and go all the extra mins.
In Toronto he is the #2 center. Im not denying its not possible but ill take the under to what fantasy points predictions are.

The argument that he had noone is kind of a lame one. That was probably only true back in the Matt Moulson and PAP days.

I'm not ripping on tavares despite not being happy with how he left, but he's never hit 90 points in his career and he's not the leafs #1 center. I think "easily" is a stretch.

exactly my point. Tavares was the go to guy in NY. Now he #2 guy. Tavares was PP machine and isles PP was always good. If you have the puck less than before it hard to imagine he going to suddenly have way more points. My point is Marner and Hyman arent massive upgrades on wing. actually one can see Lee>hyman and Marner> Bailey. so call it a wash.

You think playing with Matthews on PP is much different than playing with Barzal and Lee?

Hope everyone's day is going great! top 5 in prospects i see, nice!

P.s. Tavares prob hits around 70 points next year because babcock likes to spread the offense and give everyone like 15 minutes of ice time. That and first year playing in hometown jitters. I can see an underachieving year more than i can see a 90+ point year.

Agree.

Matthews had 18:08 ice time leading all Leaf forwards. Other to top line forwards were between 15 and 17 minutes. One would think that JT will not kill penalties anymore.

JT was at 19:56 but 1:34 was PK. So EV and PP was 18:22. He will likely play less than that.

The isles PP was not always good. Most of the time they couldnt gain the zone.

I have crazy predictions. I dont see the leafs making the playoffs. I see Tampa Florida and Boston in the top 3 and both wild cards going to the Metro. Metro Standings. Caps Pens Islanders top 3 Jackets Flyers wild cards

Babcock likes 15 min a night for players. On the isles JT would get 25 min. Big difference.
