The added bonus is that maybe we'd get lucky and someone would claim Beaulieu or Larsson
...thats the problem. If they didnt get picked up, they would still be a cap hit.
May be a team really hurting on D would pick up BLow-U for free, but at the beginning of the year when teams are set, he might not get picked up.
We do have salaries coming off the books next year. If the bonuses carry over to next years hit, we could probably deal with it.

I believe you would still get the initial $1m per in waiver savings per player. And because we already have 3 too many players for the 23 man-roster, they wouldn't need to be replaced. Free money, basically
So he can't play center in the NHL apparently. He can't score 5v5. He gets turnstiled on the defensive end. He can't score off the rush.
Who am I to say who's elite and who's just a good player, but I can understand JBotts reluctance to sign away the farm for 8 years and 64 million, just yet.
Although I must admit, it would be sorta shadenfreude to watch the tide turn on him if he kerplunks a 42 point season after signing a big deal. NOT that that would Ever happen on hockeybuzz....

I thought it was a percentage of the players salary?
But if it was $1M/player, problem solved!
We're definitely waiving a few players after camp.
It will be interesting to see what happens.

I believe the savings = the league minimum salary + $375k

We have argued long and hard over the GOAT question. Is it Lebron, or is it MJ.
And here is the authoritative voice on the issue. CASE CLOSED.

Mr. @realDonaldTrump In my opinion everyone especially a President should love all,and not differentiate between them. I love @KingJames #MichaelJordan @RaufMahmoud and all athletes, and wish them all the best.
yes he did...but the lingering question seems to be, what was the driving force behind that surge? - Michael Pachla
Wasn’t playing 3rd line C with mediocre players. His shooting % was much closer to the league average as well. He had a dreadful shooting % the first half of the league it was somewhere around 5%

problem was 80% of the roster under performed to start last season
could be lack of talent
new coach
lack of chemistry
lack of drive
I think risto and reinhart turned it up a bit the last half of the season and look forward to a group of eichel, casey, dahlin, risto, skinner, reinhart
new arrivals like berglund, sheary, and of course any improvement in net will improve this team
90 points plus for the team this season, book it now

you could make a case that reinhart was driving ror the last half of the season instead of the way it was suppose to play out
sam and jack is a great pp combo, not that special teams matter much

that's the big thing, did reinhart turn the corner, or was he turning it on in a contract year...also, his 5v5 scoring is weak...does that indicate he's a pp specialist?...if so, victor Olofsson may take over that role in a year or two at a fraction of the cost - Michael Pachla
This. Also he rarely wins any one on one battles along the boards. If and when the Sabres make the playoffs ,do you think this guy will be effective in that type of battleground.

same question could be asked for any one of our players how many of those guys have actually been in a playoff game
