I have an aunt in Dallas - washedup20
I went up to Paris and slept in a park. Went down to Barcelona, someone broke in my car. Took the train to Athens and passed out in a fountain. Some Swiss junkie in Turin ripped me off of my cash. Sold my plasma in Amsterdam, spent it all in a night buying drinks at the Milchweg for a soldier in drag.

With Pommer, Moulson and Beau off the books, we should be able to keep Skinner here. Then Sobotka, Bogo and Scandella the next year (retaining Sheary hopefully).
I like what Botts is doing with the cap. Could be tight this year, but moving forward we're sitting pretty even with raises to Skinner, Dahlin, Mitts and Reinhart on the way. - RhinoFan
Could even take a run at Seguin or Karlsson in free agency next year if we show enough improvement this year that makes it attractive enough for them to even consider signing here. Scandella, Sheary, Berglund, Sobotka are placeholders until Asplund, Olofsson, Nylander (if he ever wakes up), Guhle/Pilut are ready. Then the three first rounders in 2019 replace the depth of the pipeline. The future is bright. The suffering is over.

If they extend Skinner and get Sam signed, things will be tight for the foreseeable future. It's comfortable next year (with Ullmark/ERod/McCabe due deals), but then we're dealing with extending Mitts/Sheary/Thompson and then Dahlin. Some tough decisions to make for sure.

Sheary is already making 3, skinner making 5.75, Thompson should not be too expensive to resign.
With Pommer, Moulson and Beau, we are fine next year. Should be fine the following year with Bogo and Scandella coming off.
When I run the numbers, it seems to fit as long as we aren't paying Dahlin or Mitts a Jack-type salary.

I had that CD. Very underrated band if you ask me. - adambuffalo
Agreed. I followed them for a long time.
Drank beers and a couple of shots with Johnnie Hicks and Frank Funaro one night at the Dinosaur BBQ in ROC after they did a show here at a city festival.

Forwards: Eichel, Reinhart, Skinner, Mittelstadt.
Defense: Dahlin, Risto, Guhle
Goalie: Ullmark with Hutton shifting back to a backup role after this year.
It’s a virtual certainty that Scandella, Sheary, Sobotka, Berglund, Pominville, Okposo (hopefully), Bogosian, Hunwick, Beaulieu, Girgensons, Larsson are all gone in 2 years. If Erod, McCabe don’t take team friendly deals don’t let the door hit them on the arse on the way out. We’ll have many players looking to take their place.
its yet to be determined... but if Dahlin is what they say he will get Jack money - IndianaSabresFan
Certainly possible. If he's over 10 it will be tight. That I get, but methinks the cap may go up a bit more substantially here shortly as well. There's wiggle room even with him at 10, it's both of them that would cause a big issue.
If they attain that level though, we are a playoff contender from here on out. I'm alright with either.

Not saying it doesn't ft, just that it's tight and will be for a while. It might mean they move on from McCabe after the season or a strong season from ERod forces a tough move.

I hear ya, just don't think we're close to having to move on from good players. E-Rod isn't going to make big bucks, neither is McCabe unless they show something they have yet to in the NHL.
Looking at it, Pommer going helps absorb some of Jack's money. With Bogo, Moulson to come, Mitts and some of the lesser depth players should be covered. Three years from now is when it could potentially become tight, but by then Berglund can be moved, Sobotka is done...lots of dead weight is removed in favor or cap space.
That's all, not saying it's absolute either, but I think "tight for the foreseeable future" is a bit pessimistic, especially when looking around the league at the dire straits some are in.

I don't really consider it pessimistic. Really, it's more optimistic that our prospects will be worth their projections. An extra million on a secondary player like McCabe or ERod effects my projections.
