he's suppose to bring offense and use his skating ability to transition the puck; he'd better bring that this year!! - LeftCoaster
he's going to be a UFA, there's no way in hell they're giving him a qualifying offer at that price.
make or break year for guys like him, Gaunce, Granlund and Goldobin.

I knew he sucked last year, but even his other years when he 'didn't suck' he got 1 and 5 goals. Has he always sucked but he was all we had and thought he was good? |

this fanbase, like other fanbases, has a history of overrating it's fringe/depth players |

If Gillis could get a 5th round pick for Raphael Diaz, which became Adam Gaudette, then Benning can get something for Hutton |

I’m sure if Jim tosses in another late round pick, which the team not only doesn’t need, but is better off without, he could get back a player that we will waive in a year. |

I could see a team like Detroit offering a 7th rounder. |

lol, Tavares turned down more money from SJ to sign with the Leafs. The Canucks wouldn't even get a returned phone call.
Might as well say they fired Linden for not trying to trade for McJesus. - Nucker101
There is more to TL’s firing than a supposed offer for JT & difference of opinions. Anyone thinking otherwise & listens to the media's speculation is a lemming lol
There had been no indication from JT he ever would consider any offer from any team. He singled out teams for interviews says it all. We can bet some of the other teams kicked some tires as a matter of good business. So he signs in Hogtown & somehow thats the straw that broke the camels back. Geez gimme a break 😂😂
Ppl gotta stop looking for the bait |

Aah Benning did the picking for Gaudette.
MG probably get an overager or some bum.
Hutton traded would turn into gold then 😂 |

the entire diaz/gaudette scenario highlights exactly what's been wrong with the Canucks. They went from going heavy-moneypuck to heavy-oldschool. They need a good balance instead.
in a sense, Gillis/Benning indirectly worked together here and it turned out pretty well with a waiver claim of Weise turning into Gaudette.
Gillis was able to squeeze something out of nothing with Waiver Claim of Weise -> Diaz -> Pick and Gilman was great at managing the cap but their drafting was weak.
Benning has a habit of overpaying and being an easy guy to deal with in trades and has handed out some generous contracts, but he and Brackett seem much better at running a draft table than Gillis. He finishes off the job by using that pick to acquire an intriguing young prospect.
Benning needs a Gilman/Gillis type that he can get along with to keep some balance in the front office. Weisbrod does not seem like that guy at all. |

When all the pros & cons are weighed JB has done a fine job. Considering the stage the Canucks are at its definitely going in the right direction. Sure some bumps along the road getting to this point but its all positive.
What we need is hockey ppl run the hockey side of the biz. Everyone else stay da fuq outta the way.
This fanbase generally speaking is historically never satisfied with anything & is most of the problem along with some management being FA mostly. When ppl cannot see the forest for the trees its all doom & gloom. Everyone likes & wants to be a winner but very few ppl want to be a part of the pain & process. Its convenient to female dog about the past & anything that can be grasped upon but so-called fans will flock to together & pile on with gang mentality. Thats why democracy is bs & why like it or not most of us are wrong on mostly everything. Til ppl walk in someones shoes they know nada.
