It would be a fair deal imo. I don't think its the right time for a trade but it does make us better.
- thundachunk

when elite players are available, you have to see if you can swing the deal.

I have no issue with management looking into the price of Tavares or EK.

But whatever happens, I just hope they continue to draft and develop. at least have a a first or second round pick every draft, and of course the more the better.

When Hutton had his lucky year there was more than few on here saying he was top 4 material.
- LordHumungous

It was assumed he would continue to take steps forward rather than a step back after his rookie year. Based on how he played for an extended period of time it wasn't outrageous at the time to say he could be a middle pairing Dman. I'm interested to see if he's done enough work this summer to keep a job in the NHL, he certainly looks healthier.

I think Canucks make up of the D is mostly wrong .

I like a D that is made up of a guy that moves the puck, a finisher ( the big shot) a big hitter , the fighter , and 2 steady minute munchers.

Going forward I would like to see Hughes Woo OJ Edler Pouliot Karlsson and a guy with Engeland size and toughness.

- VANTEL

Stetcher .. moves the puck
Edler ... finished, poorly now but he was good
MDZ ...... hitter
Gudbranson... fighter
Hutton ..... minute muncher
Pullout .... minute muncher

We have them, they just suck.

He had Gaudette to DiPietro grouped together as "Legit Prospects" so I think they are fairly interchangeable

Hughes higher than Pettersson?
- NorthNuck

He's very very high on Hughes. Loves everything about him, with only a minor concern about his size. Whereas he has come around on Pettersson but still thinks the kid's skating needs work. The two were in the same "Elite" category so I think its splitting hairs, and more telling to me that the Canucks got a steal with Hughes

That's why I posted the equally beloved Biech/Burke rankings for balance

Not cool Whitey. Pronman is a piece of sh!t. The (frank)head has Mittlestad ranked higher than Petterson.

He is a tool that won’t admit when he is wrong. EP doesn’t have skating issues. He is just physically weak lol

He mentions it in his rationale for ranking BUFF higher. Mittlestad is more elite than EP. more elite at what? Putting up marginal numbers in college and looking like he is taking a sh!t when he performs pull ups?

I like how you put this 👍
If we can swing it for EK a possible UFA like Seguin gets his attention.

I'm not a fan of how Pronman does his rankings but he is correct in saying both Mittelstadt and Pettersson are really talented kids.

Pettersson is better though

Meh, I see this Mittlestadt vs Pettersson like comparing peak Phil Kessel and peak Daniel Sedin. One is flashier, faster, and buzz-worthy and the other is more complete, cerebral, and consistent. Two good prospects that have a lot riding on their success

Except the difference between Horvat and Eichel is a little more distinct. Less pressure on Mittelstadt for sure

Horvat and Eichel

I like Horvat's game, I wish he had a touch of Eichel's offence though. Horvat's got way more maturity and natural leadership skills.
