Horvat and Eichel
I like Horvat's game, I wish he had a touch of Eichel's offence though. Horvat's got way more maturity and natural leadership skills. - LeftCoaster
He does, but Eichel is clearly the superior hockey player. Pettersson needs to hit that offensive level, Mittelstadt only needs to hit Horvat's is what I'm saying
Also thats IF the Sabres need him to be their 2C. |

If I had my choice between Eichel/Mittelstadt or Pettersson/Horvat (as centers) I'd choose the former but I certainly like where we sit. |

Thanks Carol. The Gadjovich pick was the result of Torts being signed by CBJ. - Reubenkincade
Dumb Luck getting that pick
But Ill take it. |

Except the difference between Horvat and Eichel is a little more distinct. Less pressure on Mittelstadt for sure - NorthNuck
For sure, but they are in a division with some strong center depth at the moment. Going up against Matthews/Tavares, Stamkos/Point, Krejci/Bergeron, Barkov/Trochek is a pretty steep climb if they hope to make the playoffs in the next several years |

It was assumed he would continue to take steps forward rather than a step back after his rookie year. Based on how he played for an extended period of time it wasn't outrageous at the time to say he could be a middle pairing Dman. I'm interested to see if he's done enough work this summer to keep a job in the NHL, he certainly looks healthier. - NorthNuck
True. Kind of a make/break year. |

I'm not a fan of how Pronman does his rankings but he is correct in saying both Mittelstadt and Pettersson are really talented kids.
Pettersson is better though - LeftCoaster
So after reading the articles he groups them into categories.
1) Special
2) Elite
3) High end
4) Very good
5) legit
6) Have a chance
7) Depth
there is only 1 special prospect Dahlin
There is 8 elite prospects (Mittelstadt, hughes, Pettersson, Kotkaniemi, Borgstrom, Zadina, Thomas, Svhecnikov)
Big fan or Borgstrom |

Horvat and what he brings is huge. Could be my favorite player on our team...Until Karlsson gets here. |

No dude, no. He played bottom pair the first half of year one and did well. Injuries forced him into top 4 and he got scorched, some of the worst stats in hockey. Last year the entire time he played top 4 he got roasted badly. Homer’s loved him after first year, even though he did terribly in the top4. Assuming he has anything other than the ability to play bottom pair is just ignoring the facts. Lipstick on a pig=Hutton playing top4 |

I'm not in favor of trading your first round pick, ever!! No matter how good you are, unless you have more that one of them.

When all the pros & cons are weighed JB has done a fine job. Considering the stage the Canucks are at its definitely going in the right direction. Sure some bumps along the road getting to this point but its all positive.
What we need is hockey ppl run the hockey side of the biz. Everyone else stay da fuq outta the way.
This fanbase generally speaking is historically never satisfied with anything & is most of the problem along with some management being FA mostly. When ppl cannot see the forest for the trees its all doom & gloom. Everyone likes & wants to be a winner but very few ppl want to be a part of the pain & process. Its convenient to female dog about the past & anything that can be grasped upon but so-called fans will flock to together & pile on with gang mentality. Thats why democracy is bs & why like it or not most of us are wrong on mostly everything. Til ppl walk in someones shoes they know nada.
Something my father said many years ago before he passed on...

Well said, although you won't get to many agreeing because their all super awesome armchair GM's that would get every action right.

I'm not either. I don't think we are ready to make such a play anyhow. However I sure can see FA pushing Benning to make a splash. High profile players fill seats. |

Could you imagine a world where somehow we acquired Karlsson, filled the stands every home game then missed the playoffs?

Middle pair is top4. He’s never seen layer well enough to hold that spot, at any point in his career.

Good one. I still prefer it to the resident whatever the frank castanza you’re supposed to be. Hockey message board trivia writer ? Resident “my mom thinks I’m cool”? |
