Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Yankees are working to finalize a trade for Giants' outfielder Andrew McCutchen.

Yankees' prospect Abiatal Avelino was pulled early from his game at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and rumored to be part of a potential return package for the Giants. The 31-year-old impending free agent is hitting .255/.357/.415 with 15 homers, 55 RBI and 13 stolen bases on the season.

This is part of the reason baseball is stupid. Trade deadline was a month ago, but if you make a trade before Aug 31st, that player can still be eligible for the postseason (but they have to go through waivers before the trade can go through.)

Also, I learned that if a player has been in the league for 10 years and has played for the same team for the last five years he must agree to any trade.

The only way this team succeeds this year is that:

A. Nathan Peterman is a better game manager than Tyrod
B. Josh Allen grows into Aaron Rodgers Jr.

We have a pretty decent defense. There's nothing good about the offense, except McCoy, who's under an investigation.
