Higgins made half the money lol
And we female doged about him not being good enough for the 2nd line and getting him off the PP everyday - Nucker101

We were adding pieces for a cup run, not a rebuild. Lapierre was great as a 4th line C, he just got pressed into a 3C role with Manny's injury and did OK. - golfingsince
When Oilers rebuilt they got roasted by the guys in here for not providing veteran leadership. Now that it is us we are criticizing our management . |

We added a vet to a team full of vets when we added Sutter, same as Gudbranson. I would have been ecstatic to add Sutter when we added Lapierre.
I don't think you can compare the two. |

That is a lot ,a lot of youth
I think there is a good balance now. Others think there is too many vets |

IF the kids earn the spots then you can cut some vets. |

That's a very good thing . I think we will see some vets moved out very soon . |

I am trying to recall who said Higgins and Lapierre were good signings the other day - VANTEL
Those were trades. Think it was Nucker |

Higgins had similar numbers to Sutter . That is why I found it funny . They didn't like Sutter signing but liked Higgins - VANTEL
Higgins was acquired for a third, and resigned for 2.5m wasn’t it? Not really comparable imo |

I couldn’t follow suit. Honesty has no place at a wine tasting. |

2.5 six years ago to a 55 mil cap hit is pretty equivalent to a 4.3 of an 80 mil. |

So would I, next year when he walks away from Ottawa for free, or if Ottawa will except Stencher, Hurtton and Eriksson. |

I suppose, cap wise, their salaries are equivalent. They were (are) also both miscast, playing in positions they aren’t suited to. |

Just for the record no one drafted by Canucks or Pens in 2016 have played a NHL game yet . That was the year we traded a second for a third Will Lockwood |

Atlantic is weak, I think Buffalo could squeak out a decent season. A lot depends on how Hutton does but healthy eichel/dahlin/middlestadt could make things interesting for them. My (very) dark horse for a wild card this year due to weak division |

And since when was Higgins a fan fav? Did you forget how much we all female doged when he was getting top 6 minutes?
He was a solid 3rd liner until he declined. I’ll take that for 2.5M
Just like I can live with Sutter as a shutdown C at 4.5M
Both players were disliked when they were overplayed, they were just fine as role players |

A lot of us thought he’d become one after his rookie season, same with Corrado and Stecher.
