Virtanen is a bit too gentile. I know he can hit like truck, but he doesn’t as often as he should.
- 1970vintage

He would get more hits if he got ice time.

He just turned 22, hopefully Greener will give him some rope this year. On that note, I just watched the Canucks for Kids fishing tourney video for 2018, I wasn't aware Travis Green has a nine year old autistic son.

Don’t be so negative, you’ll get labeled.
- 1970vintage

don’t want to be labeled, I need to try that again...Hutton speed while pinching in is phenomenal the way he strides over the offensive blue line and gets beat is a vision of beauty.
While defending in his own zone Stecher really works hard at skating from side to side as the opposition moves the puck from player to player. He puts on at least an extra 2 miles a game, spectacular. It all that keepaway they play with a soccer ball in the hallways, Stecher emulates that to perfection on the ice.

Gudbranson strategic hockey mind is unique, he fools so many opposition players the way he lightly throws the puck out of his own zone, only to see it right back on his stick to try again, again again, really confuses the opposition.

Boy that 1990 draft could've been something special!!!

First round...

2nd overall - Jaromir Jagr
18th overall - Keith Tkachuk

Second round...

23rd overall - Doug Weight

Fifth round...

86th overall - Gino Odjick

Funny, 86th overall is now a third round pick.

Isn't Glass the pick that 95% of Canuck lemmings wanted over Pettersson?

Yes but cheers to us 5%🍺

Your new location is splendid. Only a fool who waives many, many pom poms would think the Canucks will finish higher then the Oilers. Some on here think we're moving up 10 spots so unless the Oilers don't improve .......

Give me 15 points and I'll take your bet.

- Pres.cup

Only a fool cares 1 iota about the Oilers who hoard 1oa’s & are horrible still.

There was a few real promotions by a few for Glass but time draft day came around I think it was closer to 60-40 for Glass over Pettersson. In here at least. I don't do any other sort of Canucks forums or twitter.
- manvanfan

I was Mittelstadt for the longest time. Troy enlightened me on Pettersson & i was mostly undecided after that.

Cheers🍺 to us 40%

As it was i wanted Makar but he went early.
Casey was my pick but again Troy changed that. Undecided only cuz didn't know enough about EP but i was fine if we picked him. Once Makar was gone cuz we needed D it was go for a C. I also as usual wanted to trade down if JB had others he liked or knew he could still get EP. If only he knew who McPhee wanted too bad.

If i were JB I’d explore trade down options always. Firstly its more picks & best if a 1st & a 2nd. Not 1oa of course unless a gigantic offer that needs serious consideration. I too like more picks as do many here. Assets are currency in today’s cap world & in a year or 2 we can use them maybe for key trades. As for EK idk if we are positioned well enough to be serious. Too bad the timing is a year or 2 off to seriously go for him. If somehow JB pulls off a master stroke then its awesome.

I cannot help myself...😂

1st it was JT & now it’s EK next year onto Seguin. I’m always game to get in on UFA or trading for elite stars. Why the heck not? Who doesn’t love it when the Flyers & NYR compete against each other for stars back in the day. Its sad that nowadays so little trading gets done. Sure somebody will speak out & say no we don’t want to give up assets or picks or whatever. Idc tbh cuz ithat’s not being proactive to try to improve. Elite talent isn’t offered up very often. Quality over quantity is what a GM is hired to do. All of JT EK & Seguin would fill huge needs. Now i agree the EK price tag is very large & unlikely to happen

Draft & develop goes without saying but its not a steadfast cut & dried end all be all.

So hearing for EK the Sens want a top young D a 1st plus 2 other assets says we are not good trading partners. So could our offer be different considering other suitors seem not to be wanting to give up Sergachev or Heiskanen? I believe we are sniffing around the fringes for EK. Do we honestly JB is not keen to get him & only playing coy & keeping his cards close to his vest? We can be sure FA wants a marquee player for obvious reasons.

We could always wait until July 1st and sign him for free when he's a UFA? Or wait until TDL when Ottawa will be desperate to unload him for something and lowball them.

For sure i just presume the now before that happens. If he’s still a Sen sure the TDL but see how much they will budge before then.

We can then manouvre pieces if we get serious beforehand.
