don’t want to be labeled, I need to try that again...Hutton speed while pinching in is phenomenal the way he strides over the offensive blue line and gets beat is a vision of beauty.
While defending in his own zone Stecher really works hard at skating from side to side as the opposition moves the puck from player to player. He puts on at least an extra 2 miles a game, spectacular. It all that keepaway they play with a soccer ball in the hallways, Stecher emulates that to perfection on the ice.

Gudbranson strategic hockey mind is unique, he fools so many opposition players the way he lightly throws the puck out of his own zone, only to see it right back on his stick to try again, again again, really confuses the opposition.

Don't worry Makita. You weren't being negative, it was constructive.

Draft & develop goes without saying but its not a steadfast cut & dried end all be all.

So hearing for EK the Sens want a top young D a 1st plus 2 other assets says we are not good trading partners. So could our offer be different considering other suitors seem not to be wanting to give up Sergachev or Heiskanen? I believe we are sniffing around the fringes for EK. Do we honestly JB is not keen to get him & only playing coy & keeping his cards close to his vest? We can be sure FA wants a marquee player for obvious reasons.

I think Dallas would be the best fit for a trade for them.

Esa Lindell, Radek Faska, 1st, Colten Point.

If Bobby Ryan is included then I think you lose the prospect there because Dallas will have to give up a prospect to get rid of Bobby Ryan.

Khalil Mack sat out because he didn't want to make 13.1 million dollars this season.

I have trouble seeing teams closer to winning making a big move. You could possibly acquire a guy like McAvoy Barzal or Boeser drafting. I could see a team like Oilers Sabres Canucks Habs Wings doing it but not upper teams

I would see it the other way. Teams that are closer to winning need a player that could put them over the top. Where as a bottom feeder, adding one player probably won't help them.

Exactly why a team like TB traded for JT Miller and McDonaugh and tried to trade for Karlsson.

First of all they would need 14 mil in cap space this year and 20 mil in space next year and for the next three years after. Most top teams are close to the cap.

Secondly Miller and McDonaugh cost a lost less than EK

Thirdly if you are giving up a boatload of high end young players your team will get weaker.

If it was a slam dunk then the deal would have been done. It was too expensive so more than a few teams walked away

You are making it seems as if no teams would ever be capable of trading for Karlsson, so why would teams even be trying?

There is a trade out there but Dorion and company are just stupid.

Low ball offers is why the trade has not been made

Who cares about low ball offers. Obviously Ottawa is going to wait and try and get the best deal they can. That hasn't seem to stop teams from trying and according to sources Vancouver is the only team that sucks that's interested in him.

Maybe the trade is done but Karlsson has to sign long term for it to got through.

I saw that Elliotte Friedman was at the Haida Fishing for autism tournament, I bet he got a bit of insider info during that trip. Well liked and respected.

Looks like Van's russian prospects are going to have lots of vets to mentor them if they make the KHL. Team has signed Alexei Emelin, Kris Versteeg, Max Talbot, David Desharnais, Ville Pokka, Karri Ramo, Sergei Shirokov

I like the idea of having Karlsson but we sell the farm to get him. I don’t see it being reasonable.

If Van didn't give up those all those mid round picks we would have enough talent to trade for him. (frank)en JB.

So according to EK and his Canadiens rant. The NHL advises teams what to do around the league except for Montreal. Linden running around the draft floor asking other GM's about rebuilding probably got him fired. NHL said they can't have that and he had to go.

Karlsson is elite and could help any team. Just not the right fit for every team.

The best defensemen that we have right now ready to play (who I believe could lead this team) will probably never play for us ever. I like to think he will come to NA but he never will. I hope I’m wrong but I doubt it.

How is the best defensemen in the league not a fit on any of the 30 teams other than financially not a fit? He would make every team better.

Kristoffer Gunnarsson. Yeah, solid shut down, bone crushing hits. Creates safe environment for players like Tryamkin.
