When you hang on to guys in their mid to late 30s that is what happens. - VANTEL
Yup...we all know they should've traded some players after the 2012 playoffs. |

Any GM who lets the fans influence how he runs the team isn’t going to be a good GM. Some of the best GM’s in sports history were guys who were not afraid to make unpopular moves and step on some toes to improve their teams. - Nucker101
I guess in this case JB is doing his job well. |

Are you kidding?
We signed 3 bottom six players and this fan base hasn't shut up in two months . Every single day someone is female doging and crying . Can you imagine what would happen if Benning did go in on Karlsson or ROR?
When you don't give a rats ass about your fans you become the current NYI or Coyotes |

You can’t put in a year limit for keepers, you’d have to enforce that rule manually.
The league I do with my friends we made a rule where you get to keep 3 players, but you lose the pick in the round they were chosen. So if you
McDavid as keeper = no 1st round pick next year.
Ehlers as 4th round keeper = no 4th round pick next year
If you make trades and end up wanting to keep 2 guys who were picked in 3rd round then you lose your 2nd and 3rd round pick next year. But you can’t keep 2 players who were picked in round 1 the previous year.
And if you keep a guy you got off waivers then it only costs you your last round pick
Etc, etc..
Makes the draft more fun late since everyone wants to find a steal and makes trades/keepers more interesting. Stops anyone from ending up with Crosby and McJesus as well
If there’s enough interest in here, I’m willing to help set it up and Lefty or Scooby can be commish - Nucker101

35 goals scores are a dime a dozen , got it. This one out , next one in - VANTEL
JVR wont score 35 in philly.. Funny how his production skyrockets when he plays with Marner
I wonder if MM will have the same effect on JT, who made an all-star out of Anders Lee..
Leafs have plenty of guys who can bury the puck, thats not at all the issue. Bozak, Komarov, Martin, and JVR were all defensive liabilities, they're gone. Replaced with speed in Kap and Johnsson for improved PK... Both should score around 20 goals. Do the math, scoring will be up, not down. |

Jim Benning imo doesn't give a rats ass about what Canuck fans say, what he does care about is what the owner says, to a fault imo. |

You are taking it to the extreme and dummying down the statement. Benning made three signings this year and the fan base has not shut up with all the hate for Benning even though it was a group agreement by the coach GM and owner.
Back in the ROR rumors the fans in here were again screaming. Karlsson same thing.
No matter what Benning does he is screwed. Public opinion will eventually cost him his job . |

I'd put a nice sizeable bet down that JVR scores between 30-40 goals in Philly this year. |

he's a 30/30 guy...
Amazing hands in close. Terrible shot and defense. I wish him all the best, he's a great guy.
But he doesn't command the game like Tavares. |

Unfortunately is doesn't work that way. Guys with million dollar jobs usually don't say who cares when the job is on the line. |

Right around then I started hearing sh!t about Kesler too.
Should have traded that jack ass right then and there. |

He's still gonna score around 35 goals in Philly, which you said he wouldn't. I'm just saying I disagree with your prediction. Flyers scored 272 goals last year, Leafs 277, Philly has a very capable offensive team. |

Oh ok.. They totally don't play the same position but your point is valid.. We'll just leave a LW position wide open and not have another player come in and contribute. Tavares will do all the scoring. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Don't forget the power struggle coming between Mathews and taveras, taveras just might punch him out. |
