I don't know if he has the power type of game. Maybe more of a Daniel Alfredsson or Markus Naslund? - manvanfan
Nope Forsberg. I'm going with Peter the great. From hence forth he shall be named.
Elias the Great. |

I can not wait to see him play. I just hope he is elusive like the Kanes and Panarins and then the weight will not matter as much. If he is going to rocked a lot he will be injured. He kind of reminds me of a young Michael Backlund, hopefully better and healthier. His skill set is off the charts but this is a new league. I always worry because D. Rundblad was off the charts and best defenceman in the SHL and you all know how he panned out. - joegreif17
Klingberg gives me hope
Same Height as Pettersson and he plays at 177ibs |

He has to create space. If he is a step ahead from opposing players he has the talent to make plays. He can open a lot of ice for who ever he plays with. Potentially he could revive Eriksson's career. Eriksson was good when he played with guys that could give him space to play. I know I am going to get shot for even using Loui in the same breath as Pettersen. |

Yes, I agree. Hoping the kid is a young superstar. I can not blame fans for being so optimistic but I have been down this road since 1970 starting with Tallon. For some reason the Canucks have had great luck with later rounds such as Bure, Gradin, Boudrias. For a top first rounder to succeed they need a good supporting cast and I hope Boeser and boys can provide that and I think they will. Poor Cam Neely had nobody and had to become a super star in Boston, thanks to Janney and Bourque etc. |

I agree and if you look at Erikkson and what he has done in the nhl all his good years he had that good supporting cast. I believe he could bounce back as well. He has been playing hurt in my opinon but always liked him. Yes he has been disappointing here and that is why if you want to win hockey pools you only take Boeser, lol |

I agree, Forsberg was a big bodied physical specimen with elite talent, arguably one of the best swedes ever. Petterson will never be a Forsberg style player but he could become the Swedish Gretzky |

Him and Sakic were absolutely unbelievable players, HHOF 1-2 centers. Forsberg is 8th and Sakic is 12th in career PPG.

I think this is the year Horvat comes alive statistically. His line will be a treat for Canuck fans all year. Crazy as this sounds if the Canucks could land Karlsson and get better goaltending this could be a playoff team. Markstrom has to be more consistent and putting EK out 25 plus a game would change the whole team chemistry. |

Totally agree but he was too busy crushing people as well as scoring. That takes its toll on players like him, not to mention he was targeted every game. |

He waited three years in Sweden before coming over after he was drafted, or he'd have been close to 1000 games, but yeah, those oversized ankle bones messed him up. |
