He waited three years in Sweden before coming over after he was drafted, or he'd have been close to 1000 games, but yeah.

I think those three extra years served him well. The same for the Finnish Flash, I doubt Selanne would have scored 76 goals as a rookie if he came over three years earlier. I think he had military obligations for his country but it allowed him to come over much stronger.

good goalie but this quote pretty much covers it. i remember when he was first traded to the team and don taylor asked him why he chose "1" for his uniform number. he showed some swagger and said, "number 1. that says it all."

as a fan, it made me giddy. the reputed best goalie in the league with such confidence.

and now, a decade and a half of history later; he sarcastically jokes about the pressure of being on a top contender in a top market.

lol and all he had to was steal one fu**cking game in Boston.

Greetings,

Today's blog takes a peek at the Canucks players at last week's pro camp out in Delta, a Whistler weekend, informal skates beginning at Rogers Arena and Jay Beagle's day with the Stanley Cup.

Roberto Luongo interviewed in Florida this afternoon. - “Yeah Vancouver has the most supportive fans in the league.”... “I never once felt under the gun there.”

Imagine the numbers Forsberg would have if he had a rather healthy career.

I think this is the year Horvat comes alive statistically. His line will be a treat for Canuck fans all year. Crazy as this sounds if the Canucks could land Karlsson and get better goaltending this could be a playoff team. Markstrom has to be more consistent and putting EK out 25 plus a game would change the whole team chemistry.

Getting a Karlsson would change our whole dynamic on D. Allow our D to tighten up more & let offence come. 1 real big threat on D changes ops strategy immensely. We never have had it before.

Swedes & Finns by rule come over very ready & adjusted for NHL life. Not all but mature most often.
