The Sedins were 2 of the worst 5v5 players on this team last year so it shouldn't be hard to find someone even marginally better
- Nucker101

Pettersson will replace Daniels production while being better defensively. Not sure who can score 30 even strength points to replace Henrik but be an even player though?

With more puck sharing & D not ignored the team offence will open up.

For 10yrs they didn’t deserve D-zone starts.
Aka got the easy minutes.

- Nighthawk

Im not sure what this even means, and probably neither do you, however, guys who win Art Ross Trophies get paid to score, they put them in positions they and the team were going to be successful at, and it worked beautifully!

There's no such thing as "easy minutes", it's (frank)in hard to go against the other teams top pairing and best checkers every night and produce.

Very few players in the league were as good at producing offence like they did, your ignorance in omitting that is laughable.

Yes but the Sedins never did much of the heavy lifting in the trenches. Your ignorance shows you don’t know there is 2 ends to the ice. Get to sit on their ass watching the PK.

WCE produced offence but were a minus line. Your knowledge sucks.

Wonder why we have no cups?

Padding stats on PP is nothing special.
5v5 points are where real players shine.
Stars play 2-ways in any situation.

Our best PP’s ever were when either Bert or Kesler were net front presence.

There is no doubting the Sedins were magical on offence but it ends there.
Their twilight years stifled us & here we are today. Time for the next wave.

WHO is capable of scoring 50 points outside of BB, BO and EP?
- neem55

Baertschi and Gagner. Oh, and eriksson of course! don't @ me

Goldobin, Leipsic, Virtanen and Granlund have more to give too

Dahlen, Gaudette and Palmu will be more productive callups than years past when the injuries hit

If Pettersson has a great year, then ya, it will. If he's the only one who makes it but has a so-so year, then it's essentially only Boeser and Horvat to entertain you with offence.

The argument all summer is we brought in three contracts to make us harder to play against and insulate the young guys. People screaming we are taking jobs from the young kids.

Then asked who replaces Vaneks and Sedins 45 minutes 150 points . It will be EP Jake and either Goldobin or Liepsic (or both) stepping in and getting 2 or 3 top 6 jobs. Last time I checked they are three young guys. Add in Bo Brock and and Sven ( three more young guys), and now we are complaining about that

When you hang on to decreasing assets 5 years longer than you should have and are using a playbook from the 90s it is probably not going to go too well.

Our three highest paid forwards last year produced 36 goals . That stinks and it has been like that for 4 years . I will go out on a limb and say someone will replace Hanks 3 goals from last year and someone like Sven will come close to Dannys 23 goals .

Vanek came in from nowhere and played with Brock and Bo for a good chunk of time and scored 17 goals in 61 games. I will guess whomever plays with Brock and Bo will come close to those numbers.

Henrik setting up on the halfwall will be missed, one of the best passers in league history. The time and space he got from other players respecting his talent is not easily replaced on the PP.

People can say he only passed to Daniel but we all know that's just a cop-out, he set up plays for everyone.

- LeftCoaster

Those two passed back and forth back and forth over and over.

You are looking for someone to step in and replace those two players with that style of play. Not gonna happen . Thankfully it will be a new style and scoring will come more on the rush and more shots.

There is no two players now that will go to that cycle play that we have seen for years. I know a lot of you are worried but I say thank God (but that is not a surprise) .

This team will have a new look this year and it will take time for it to work. Patience.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I’m betting EP has a career year
- Nighthawk

of course he will, it’s his first year, it will be his career year until he out does it next year or the year after that.

Not a very bold statement.

A fair assessment.

Many focus on the Sedins lost points but don't really understand we actually got a bit better defensively overall plus 5/5. It will have an impact in the W/L column I believe and have us finishing about 3-4 spots higher.

The 25 goals lost by the Sedins can easily be replaced by Brock, Bo, Sven, EP, Leipsic,Sutter, so forth so on. Don't see it being a larger issue.

We joke and joke about our bottom 6 but with the additions of Beagle, Schaller, Rousell we will be a tougher team to play against.
