“Believe in something even if it means sacrificing everything” does this mean you can fly a plane into a building? How can so many people @Nike be this ignorant as to the logical fallacy this entails. This is absolute absurd. I really don’t understand. Why would u support this? |

The Sedins were a unique case, they played the game very differently than most young players. If you compare every decent young offensive forward in the NHL with them then by that logic every team has 2-3 future HOF’ers in their lineup. It’s hard to find that many other players in league history who started off with such pedestrian numbers for a few seasons and then had league MVP-type seasons during their prime.
I’d instead look at the career path of more typical all stars to compare Horvat and Boeser with - Nucker101
First of all my predictions were for this upcoming year and not what TROLLBOY was suggesting that I said career. I never once mentioned career but like everything else he needs to add his own twist. (Suprising no one likes him )
I doubt Bo's end numbers will ever match Heriks seeing he will more than likely be a number 2 center.
Brock has been at the top of the list everywhere he plays . Not making any predictions but I do expect good things from him. |

How many teams have 23 players under the age of 25. Weren't we like 12th or 16 th?
We have 4 players including Beiga ages 30 -33 - VANTEL
The average age of the Canucks has not come down much at all under JB, from like 29.4 to 28.2 or something over four seasons, and remains above the league average. I see this number coming down significantly over the next two seasons, but for now I think we will see a flat line of goals for, and improvement as more of the grade A prospects start to make the team. |

I agree with you vinty. We have had discussions here about Pettersson being an x-factor on the season, because youth and inexperience doesn't give us an idea of how he will produce. The Canucks have a lot of NHL experience, whereas teams like Buffalo and Arizona have more players that could boom or bust. Either way I think both will finish ahead of VAN in the standings, and I predict they will heavily outscore them too |

Not sure if I would agree with the bolded.
Many players over the years have talked about leadership, on and off the ice. - Reubenkincade
Yeah, leadership is not overrated by any means, I don't agree with that statement either. |

But it was almost 30 when he took over, so the team has gotten younger...
I bet two seasons from now they will be under the league average and closer to 26 than 30. |

Aren't we projected to be one of the youngest teams this year? Capfriendly has our avg. age at 26.7 years and that is without Pettersson, Goldobin, Juolevi, Demko as well as with Dorsett and Biega counting towards it.
Pretty sure we're one of the younger teams already. |

Leadership is not determined by age, it is an intrinsic character. Just look at Don, he is an old (frank)er and not much of a leader in these parts, slapping his boss and all |

Goldobin was on pace for 18 goals 30 pts last year in his first year real experience as a NHLer - VANTEL
Sucked.
Can't play defensively to save his life. He should focus on his modeling career when he leaves Utica in a huff after getting sent down by the Canucks. |

Depends on the final roster but age is definitely not a concern

If you count the young guys I mentioned and subtract Dorsett and Biega our average age is 25.4.
Likely to be a bit higher if you assume 1 or 2 young guys won't make the team and Biega might play but still that's a very low number. Like you say, not a concern in the slightest. |

They weren't nearly as awful as Goldobin. Not even close.
Goldobin is a career AHL'er. |

Apparently Nylander extension is suppose to be announced today or tomorrow.
Probably the main comparable for Boeser. |

It will more than likely be him Granlund or Leipsic that fills in until Dahlen or someone else is ready.
I don't think any of these players will be here in 5 years so I don't care who gets the job for now but I do like Leipsic better |

Based on a Feb 1 roster each year here are the average age of the Canucks vs the league:
2014/15 - 29.4 v 28.2
2015/16 - 28.9 v 28.0
2016/17 - 28.8 v 28.0
2017/18 - 28.2 v 28.0
What part of anything that I’ve said is false?
Are you using the eye test instead of stats to measure age... |

Where are you pulling those numbers from? The stats I saw said 27.5 in January last year. Plus as I said the number now is somewhere between 25.4 and 26
edit: I forgot about Jokinen being added in Feb. But the point remains |

Since Feb we have lost Vanek 2 Sedins Dorsett Jossi - VANTEL
The date is so that rosters are pretty much set, as opposed to doing it when the season starts. Also, Jossi? Do you mean Joker, who wasn’t included in this because he was acquired at the deadline. Yes, Vanek and Sedins gone will bring the average down slightly, but if Beagle Rousel replace Gaunce and Dowde then the average goes up. |
