If Thompson plays in the NHL even close to what we saw tonight, that O'reilly trade is going to start looking really good for us.

Agreed. I mean we can't expect that level of success against NHL players right away, but WOW that was great.

There was something else tonight we haven't seen in years.......S.P.E.E.D.

I hope these young guys intimidate the old guys and wake them the heck up or ship them out of town.

ROR, solid player, but he doesn't win that battle. Something to be said for raw speed.

With everyone posting all their excitement about this upcoming prospects tourney and how good the team was to the number one farm system ranking, I had visions of back when the Sabres were going to Traverse city and we were expecting them to dominate with Zadorov, Risto, Girgensons, and Grig. So I didn't want to comment as I was, "I won't believe it till I see it". But, I was feeling more confident with the hype around Dahlin and Mittlestadt being there.

Well......wow. That was fun to watch. I watched the last half of the third. Tage Thompson was impressive to say the least. You expected that performance from Dahlin, and I expected Tage to be decent but that was impressive. That line dominated, in the time frame I watched. I see Nylander had a goal. I was hoping he'd have Dahlin like domination, he had a couple defensive plays I saw. How was he the rest of the game.

I feel like hope is building and I can open my eyes a little.

Nylander was good. He's bigger, stronger, and playing with more confidence. He was in the play every shift. He looks like he might be turning the corner. I don't see him making the Sabres out of camp, but I can see him being first call up.

If nylander plays like he did tonight we might be able to remove the bust label... he was good, had a couple rushes... would still like to see a little more physicalcality to his game though. He was good in his own end too... out there with less then 2 minutes

If Thompson ends up being a top 6 player and GMJB hits on the St. Louis pick, that trade will look amazing.

Borgen....kind of reminds me of McKee. Maybe it's too early to say that, but that's kind of what I see in a VERY small sample.

I haven't felt this good without using the word "if" so much in my life.

Maybe not this year, but with a pool of talent like this, the old guys better start realizing they're going to have to earn their roster spots.

Let competition put the best players on the ice and keep the others hungry.

Waive the whiny ones.

I can't believe how good Thompson was.

Tage was the best player on the ice, taking nothing away from Dahlin.

Nylander actually hustled throughout the game.

Borgen Dahlin were the perfect pairing. Could see them together in a year or two.

Forecheck was intense, a ton of team speed

I didn't find him particularly good or bad. He wasn't very noticeable most of the time. I thought Ogelvie was better.

Laaksonen was the surprise of the night. A few years away, but you could see the potential in him.

Were we watching the same game? Nylanders hustle finally showed with his skill. I thought Laaksonen looked really green.

One thing that might not have showed up on the broadcast is that at the end of every 3rd or 4th shift dahlin would shoot up the wing hoping to get free. I heard about him doing this overseas - hopefully housley doesn't take that from him. I thought team playmaking is what stood out tonight.

Sounds like we weren't. I didn't think Nylander stood out. I saw more effort from him, for sure, but just didn't amount to much.

Housley would be nuts to try and stop Dahlin from doing that. But this is why having guys like Borgen and Samuelson are going to be so important, they'll hold down the fort will Dahlin jump up in the play.

Oloffsson needs to be right there on our pp very soon. Idgaf what league he’s in, goals are going to be scored with that shot. Insane.

I definitely didn't see it that way. At a minimum, I'd put Mittelstadt, Asplund, and Ogelvie ahead.
