I can't believe the Rangers have a pre-season game 1 week from today at MSG vs the Devils, that's insane - jimbro83
I also find it crazy they have a game one week from today and the team still hasn't been all together yet for a full practice. Don't get NHL rules when it comes to training camp. I feel like other sports get a full month at least together to practice and hold meetings.
Max Pacioretty has signed an extension worth $28 million for 4 years. $7 million AAV. He's now signed with VGK through the 2022-23 season. - jimbro83
Based on his remaining $4.05M cap hit with Montreal, Pacioretty's acquisition leaves them with about $9.4M of available cap space as of right now for this season, prior to next season's new $7M AAV 4 year extension.
Any thinking of Erik Karlsson heading there for Ottawa's purpose at any point by the start of this season, is now greater than likely gone at least to that earlier highly rumored destination. It would require some other salary cap to be shed by Vegas, prior to them dealing and extending him long term at over $10M per season, even before having to also accept Bobby Ryan's contract along as well with his acquisition.
Pacioretty's new 4 Year $28M contract (Annual cap hit of $7M) will make his salary after this season's $4.5M salary on the last year of his Montreal contract expires, actually be per season:
2019/20: $10.5M
2020/21: $7M
2021/22: $5.25M
2022/23: $5.25M

I already saw that, tom, as per my comment you replied to here.
I wonder now with Pacioretty's extension amount in salary for its first 2 seasons of $10.5M and $7M, (for an average first two years of $8.75M), as to what effect it may have on what Panarin, Seguin, and those following them forwards wise in order of stature, will command if indeed becoming free agents next Summer.
Really hoping that Chytil gets caught taking PED's so I can henceforth refer to him as "Cheatil"

We don't want an "A-ROID" to ever be wearing this N.Y. RANGERS jersey, like that player of some other sport who wore that Southern Rangers jersey, after originally wearing a Mariners one, with both worn prior to his Bronx, N.Y. one when he was finally nabbed big time for using PED's.

Yeah, two months worth of Spring training and Exhibition Baseball games, along with likewise, two months of Summer training camp and Preseason Football games in total as well.
Only the real young kids are in hockey training camp for those two sports' equivalents.
But that may be a good important part of our Rangers team for this season for one.

It's a smack in the face. How about after 9-11-2001? They were delayed a few days from gathering officially as a team and on 9-17-01 had to play their 1st ex game. Like after 3 or 4 days of practicing, ludicrous yo!

man... our prospects suck... - MeltingPlastic
Not sure if you're being serious or not, and normally I wouldn't put ANY stock whatsoever into the TCT. But considering a decent amount of those players is where the rebuild started, I gotta be honest, I'm a little uneasy after the tournament. I could be wrong and please someone jump in here, but shouldn't some of these players almost have dominated this thing?
