Yeah, wish they had just done it on Sunday. With the NFL opening weekend and the need for rest, I get it, but a Sunday final would have at least drew viewership. Monday at 12:30, when most are working, seems to be a misstep.

I think they were knew the third game would draw the least interest any way they scheduled it.

I would've watched if it was Sunday...sure I'm not alone.

Less, sure. The bigger loss of viewership was over the day/time IMO.

I don't even know if they did it this way last year or not. Too lazy to look it up. I surrender.

I don't care enough to look either. Would think 1 day off is standard. Dahlin's debut on a Friday night in front of a sell out crowd felt good to me.

UPL in now....glad to see that.

Yes. A good move.

And Friday was great. The future is bright.

After yesterday, that might be overly optimistic.

Had no idea an offense could be that stagnant. You start Allen next game?

The Mittelander line is poopting all over the Penguins.

God willing, this is the future of the Sabres vs Penguins.

Good to see Mittelstadt put up some points to end this too. He really seemed frustrated the first 8 periods.

So true. I think he needs to skate the rust off a bit. Last year, he seemed to get better each game. I'm hoping for the same trend, as he's shown in this prospects challenge.

Sometimes you just need to change up the lines. He seems to be getting better luck with Nylander than Olofsson

That and Asplund seems to be just better than their defenders can handle. We need to keep in mind the Pens have one of the weakest prospect pools in the league. Still, we should be excited for all the good young players coming up.

Dahlin, Mitts, Guhle, Thompson, Asplund and Olofsson look NHL ready to me. Borgen is going to be a good shut down defender too IMO.

I look to dump shady, kelvin, alexander and about 8 others in trades

play peterman for the next 14 games

it's telling when you lose by 44 points in week 1

...part of the reason I think Mitts should start with Skinner. He needs snipers, like Nylander, to play with.

Yes to the trades. Torn about Petey. Do you learn by playing or do you lose confidence with the losses? You tell me. No idea.

At least, for once, the entire Sabres MP blog can agree, that was pitiful.

I still have the same questions about Olofsson after these games. I can't see him making the team out of camp. Asplund looked solid every game, I was very impressed. I think Thompson has the best shot of the forwards at forcing his way into the lineup. Add Nylander, and camp just got a lot more interesting.

to be fair, the year after New England's first Super Bowl, we shut them out like 38-0 in the home opener.

They won the SB again that year.

Everything went right for the Bills last year. That team we very flawed but rode the wave. Just like New Jersey and Colorado did in the NHL last year. Taking the next step is harder then establishing yourself in the first place.
