I still have the same questions about Olofsson after these games. I can't see him making the team out of camp. Asplund looked solid every game, I was very impressed. I think Thompson has the best shot of the forwards at forcing his way into the lineup. Add Nylander, and camp just got a lot more interesting. - Lunaion
Olofsson's shot is as advertised at least. He seems to be an okay skater, but nothing spectacular. I think he's surely starting in the AHL.
But again, I think you are right and if you are, having three or four good, young NHL ready players who might not even make the team is a nice problem to have. |

to be fair, the year after New England's first Super Bowl, we shut them out like 38-0 in the home opener.
They won the SB again that year. - BeadyEyedDouche
Pats got blown up 41-20 at home by the Chiefs last year and went to the Super Bowl |

I look to dump shady, kelvin, alexander and about 8 others in trades
play peterman for the next 14 games
it's telling when you lose by 44 points in week 1 - homiedclown
I'd rather watch Taiwan Jones play the wild cat for 14 games than watch Peterman die a little more every week
I wanted peterman to play four games. That can't happen |

Team sucks. Allen has no one to learn from. Might as well get him out there for development sake. He might not be great (yet) but I sincerely don't think you can get worse than Peterman. |

I think it's more than 4. I liked Oglevie. O'Regan is ready to play. Bailey and Baptiste are going to be fighting for their jobs in camp. The competition is great...but we need some of these guys to turn into top 6 quality guys. All eyes on Thompson and Nylander in that regard.

this defensive coach sucks
gives up 47 points after getting all the new toys on D
the "creative" o coach gets us 3 points
this is a staff more clueless then when rolston coached the sabres - homiedclown
Unfortunately, it makes Richard Jauron look like a (frank)ing genius.
I hated the hire last year, hated the playoff birth because of the expectations going forward, hated the Allen draft, hated the return for Taylor, basically everything since Rex got fired has been a joke.
Rex had a .500 record here in 2 seasons. The next year, we went 9-7 with a rookie head coach and the same roster. Rex Ryan would have easily coached us to 9-7 last year.
Not saying we should have kept him, but this 2 and 3-year turnover on coaches isn't the right way to do things, either. At least Rex wasn't in over his head. |

Flipside, the Pens prospect pool sucks, but it was nice to finish off the tourny on a high note. Hoping Asplund and Nylander can bring that to camp on Friday.
CM seemed to be forcing his plays a lot, it almost seemed like he was pulling a Jack, thinking he had to win the game all alone like on Saturday night. Hopefully he shows up to camp not expecting to be 'the guy'. His game is way better when he plays like he's just another guy on the roster, even though he's obviously the most skilled outside of Dahlin (during the tournament). |

Bogo, Asplund and a 2nd would basically be what it would take to get him
Would you do it?
Even though I think Tatar will rebound it would take more than a 2nd and Asplund to take a cap dump like Bogo to get Max |

Had he gotten 6 years I would say yes he wanted 8 and was serious about it. |

This is what baffles me most about the McCarron trade... you really think Peterman has ANYTHING to offer Allen? No veteran back-up?
I mean, I get it when you're Green Bay. Highest paid player ever at the QB position, future HoF and you go sign Deshone Kizer as your back-up...
But you compete to sign McCarron, keep Peterman around like he's the second coming of Tony Romo and then trade McCarron and start Peterman.
This coach then puts in our rookie QB in a 40-0 blowout. As if that's going to help ANYONE. |

We could have easily offered Bogo, Nylander and a 2nd and only had to sweeten the pot a smidgen. |

Tatar is being seen as a cap dump that's why I said Bogo, but I would say Tatar is more valuable than Bogo
Asplund is our 3rd/4th best prospect and a center, same position that Vegas sent to Montreal.
I am pretty sure the comparison is right there |

Bridgewater
McCown
Geno Smith (Yes, Geno Smith)
Hoyer
Daniel
Siemian
Bradford
Literally any of these options were 10x better than keeping Peterman. |
