Which is pretty much what we got yesterday

I'd rather have the gun slinger in there especially if this season is a lost cause

- Stripes77

Yesterday sucked, but it doesn't make me nostalgic for Fitz. I've seen this movie and I know how it ends. Take Beady's example of Fitz's 10 win season. How did that end? Fitz shat the bed against a Bills team playing for nothing in the season finale. No playoffs for him that year

Nobody is saying he is the answer but he is certainly better than Peterman.

Also in those 3 INT games that Fitz has (about 1 a season) he still moves the ball.

That being said the Bills better get some receivers that can catch a rocket because Allen hit Benjamin in the freaking numbers in the end zone and couldn't hold on.

I look to dump shady, kelvin, alexander and about 8 others in trades

play peterman for the next 14 games

it's telling when you lose by 44 points in week 1

- homiedclown

It's telling you that they lost by 44.

Week one doesn't mean anything:
http://www.nfl.com/gamece...=analyze&analyze=boxscore

So many teams get blown out and have a great year and a lot of teams blow the other guys out and suck.

to be fair, the year after New England's first Super Bowl, we shut them out like 38-0 in the home opener.

They won the SB again that year.

- BeadyEyedDouche

31-0, then to close out the season they beat us 31-0.

Pats got blown up 41-20 at home by the Chiefs last year and went to the Super Bowl

And everyone, again, said Brady was done, for like the 4th year in a row.

176 TD
133 INT

That's fitz. Nathan Peterman is real bad, but I think this thread needed a little reminder who Fitz is. He's not 400 yards, 4 TDs and 0 INT. He might pull that off for a couple games, and then he's gonna fall apart. I am not nostalgic for Fitz

Ryan Fitzpatrick would have played well enough to not make it necessary for Allen to start going forward. That's all that could be expected or asked for at this point.

Bridgewater
McCown
Geno Smith (Yes, Geno Smith)
Hoyer
Daniel
Siemian
Bradford

Literally any of these options were 10x better than keeping Peterman.

He was the last Bills QB to throw for 300 yards

The offense was god awful yesterday, like couldn't get a first down until the second half terrible

Like Joe Flacco had more completions than Peterman had yards bad.

Fitz would be better, wouldn't change the loss but they wouldn't have been as bad, that is all I am saying

No kidding

Which is something I think they thought they could get away with because Peterman had a good preseason.

They thought wrong.

I am okay with Allen starting going forward, but man they better find some blocking and someone who can catch a hard thrown ball.

The other thing I have to say is the decision to trade McCarron.

Yes this year looks like a throw away with all of the dead cap space, but I am starting to question McDermott and Beane's ability to build a team.

They spent all of that money on defense in the offseason, didn't address the OL and WR position, they drafted Allen but then went D pretty much the rest of the way.

They signed Vonte Davis who was a healthy scratch, they let EJ Gaines walk and had his secondary get picked apart by a TE.

This is going to be a long year.

Orton had a couple over 300. One against Denver I think. Sure, Fitz is better than Peterman. Right now Logan Thomas is better than Peterman.

I was hoping for 4 games of Peterman, shouldn't happen now. EJ is available though

Pay the piper?

They made it to the finals, they have a ready now roster and the quantity to move future assets. Tater, and whatever else they moved are not significant pieces, Max is. Mcphee traded Forsberg for Erat, the long play on that shows it worked out. Great trade, I hope they grab Karlsson too.

- washedup20

McPhee traded AWAY forsberg to get Erat
That was a dumbass trade at the time,
and looks way way worse now

He’s not a good GM

Going from 8 years to 4 shows he knew his value

Had he gotten 6 years I would say yes he wanted 8 and was serious about it.

- Stripes77

Fair, but...
he signed a 4 year deal with a CONTENDER
None of us have a clue if he’d have been willing to accept that on a team like the Sabres

If the Sabres are where Vegas is at,
we’d have already gotten Skinner signed to a similar deal...
right?

Looking forward to the day our defense corps looks like this. Hopefully within the next two years:

Dahlin-Borgen
Samuelsson-Risto
Guhle-Nelson/Bogo

There really wasn't a reason to NOT start Peterman. The Bills didn't want to pay these Bradfords and Keenums. Nor did they have the money to. Not that they would have blown their wad on one of these 1-2 year QBs, but do you have any idea how debilitating 50+M in dead cap is for a team? We lose our 2 best OLs, our starting QB and did not have the funds to replace them. Not to mention the sad state of affairs at WR and CB. Tre White and (frank)all. Benjamin has never been a 1. He's a quality complimentary receiver when you have one or two other guys drawing attention. And when he catches the (frank)ing ball.

There's massive holes here, and we knew that going into this thing. Fortunately, we can attack the FA market next year.

Asplund is going to be a great 3rd line C for us for a long time. Start him off in Rochester but if he lights it up he should be a regular in the Lineup by February.

Nylander seems to be finally turning the corner. You can see the skill he possess but still is struggling a little bit with pace and work ethic but I’ve seen improvements in both.

Mitts was trying to do to much and I think you’ll see a better version of him in training camp.

Thompson’s floor is 3rd line winger with PP time but he’s definitely an NHL’er. Would be nice to see him continue to progress and be a top 6 winger for us.

Liked what I saw from Borgen. Think he is Dahlin’s future partner.

Oloffsson’s shot is deadly. Needs time in Rochester to work on his game but at the very least could be a 3rd line LW with PP time with good defensive line mates.

I think that’s a couple years a away...
but yeah, the defense for the future is FINALLY looking pretty solid

McCabe might still figure in,
especially if he can switch to the right side
You for got Pilut, who is LH, but has played the right as well
Laaksonen has been on a really nice upward climb since his draft as well
Botts has done a really nice job building depth in the defense prospects
Dahlin obviously makes all the difference in the world here though
Without him, the defense would still be a mess

I’m glad these guys looked good-great,
but they SHOULD HAVE

Let’s not forget that guys like Bailey, etc have looked great in these type situations too

I’m not saying it’s not a good thing
But we might going overboard here using this tourney to predict future NHL success
These guys all still have quite a bit of development to do

Can't really remember Bailey or Baptiste looking great, I do remember Asplund winning the Craig Ramsey MVP Award last year in the prospects tourney and he could have won it again this year. Bailey and Baptiste may have scored some points in prospects games but if you look at their overall skill it pales in comparison to some of the current top prospects.

I think it’s all still to be determined
Grigorenko had a great skill set
Like i said,
It great how good these guys look
But they still have a ways to go before they develop in legit NHLers
