Yes, I’m hoping Lyon gets a long look this year. I’ve heard that line about pairing Hart with a old vet when he come up down the road, but I think Lyon is sufficiently older than Hart and would still be competitive with him. They could be a great pair. - NC Flyers Fan
I am really envious of a team like Anaheim. A true elite goaltender in Gibson and a solid fall back/mentor in Miller.
I think talent shines through either way at the end of it, but I do see the benefits in also having a guy like Elliot for example be a fall back for whenever you do have that young kid as your starter.
Either way, hope to see Lyon/Stolarz get some games and be ALLOWED to continue to play if they are playing well. |

I'm all good with the kids. I'm not a big fan of vets on the bottom six who don't bring some measure of defensive presence to the ice. Personal opinion but kids on lower salary bases can bring the same careless play that an over priced vet can, some can bring a hell of a lot more.
I hate the salary cap but if we have to live with it let's not waste money, you never know when you'll need it.
Looking forward to the new season in every way but in goal. I'll watch the Phantoms for that. |

Doesn't mean much right now since so early but i saw on twitter that Frost looks noticeably bigger and was by far the fast player on the ice. |

Just going back to look at the possible games. Flyers have kind of a weird schedule.
April 6 Saturday : Carolina @ 7pm
March 31 Sunday : Rangers @ 1230
March 23 Saturday : Islanders @ 1pm
No Friday Home games in all of March or April.
Looking earlier (either saturday or sunday) games:
Feb 2: Oilers 1pm
Feb 9: Anaheim 1 pm
Feb 16: Detriot 1 pm
Excluding the Feb 23rd outdoor game
Seems that the March 31st game may be the best one or Carolina. |

So is that about the comp for Simmonds then? If less in dollars i can't see it being much less. |

Going to depend on how much he wants to stay in Philly I think.
Teams are going to offer crazy deals if he hits FA but if he does want to remain a Flyer I do think a fair deal could be made on shorter term. |

$7 per still seems steep for me when thinking about guys needing new deals and van Riemsdyk at his cost. |

I’m with you on letting the young guys fight for the bottom six roles. Teams really are getting away from the traditional 4th line only good for checking role.
Totally unexpected surprise this season is Neuvy stays healthy and has a career year.
You heard it here first.
