of course they have to earn it
the context of the conversation was avoiding the ufa signings like wiese in favor of filling the bottom six from in house, which may now be possible as hexy has stocked the farm with draft picks who are coming up - Marc D
I agree with that.

tailgating at breakfast has a certain warped appeal to me - Marc D
Man... if I'm getting up early on the weekend there should be a boat and a fishing pole involved. I'll put the hoagies in the ice chest and you can bring the coffee. |

My father in law and his fishing buddy took me steelhead fishing late December on the Columbia river. We left at 4:30 am, got the boat in the water by 6 am, no sunrise as it was overcast and grey, about 28 degrees out, chilly wind on the river. I was shivering.
They immediately started pouring shots of Canadian Club into their coffees.
We fished for about 3 hours with nary a bite.
I was pretty sure the entire expedition was just an excuse to get drunk in the morning.
At the 4+ hr mark I got a tug on my line.
15 minutes later I pulled a 25 lb steelhead into the boat.
One of the best days of my life. |

Started a new job with Blizzard Ent in California a little over 2 weeks ago and literally everyone on my team is a big hockey fan with one guy having season tickets to the Kings..
Would have never guessed that when I took this job. |

Aside from that whole "getting drunk in the morning thing" which I thought was a requirement, fishing should be a warm weather sport.
On the other hand, used to go about 300 miles north of Montreal every summer with some buds. Last trip was the last two weeks in Aug. Had ice on the lagoon every morning. Not a lot of fun in tents but good mummy bags helped. Biggest fish I ever caught came that year. Caught a pike a bit over 20 pounds and 3 feet. Best trip ever. Though the walleye are much better eating. |

I've never been fishing or really felt the urge to. Then again, I've never (knowingly) had a single drink of alcohol in my life. So I think that explains it. |

For me it’s not only about the fishing, it’s being able to go out into the wilderness to escape a bit, and there is something that makes you feel a little more human about eating food you caught yourself. |
