It's not a cap dump ... Vegas retains 9.% of his salary for all 3 years. - keithward
and the Habs 10% of Pacs salary for one year, first year is a write off then MTL will have a cap hit of 4.8M for Tatar (instead of 5.3) |

so next year, Poehling, Suzuki, Brook, Fleury and Ikonen could make the jump to the AHL/NHL unless the last 4 go back to juniors as 20 years old. Poehling could stay with his NCAA team until he feels he can make the Habs without going to the AHL.
This year will see a few guys with some potential head to Laval, the real waive will start next season. |

A 5th junior season for Fleury? That's a bit too many He'd hit 21 2 months into the season.
Also I think I've read that we have his rights until next year only. |

Maybe, but it's strategic use. It's not some Therrien ''gotta learn respect so I bench you''. |

so the "truth hurts".... I'm not saying he didn't ask for a trade, I don't know what's true but I do know GMMB also was the one that said PK wasn't going to be traded... just throwing it out there...
The GM hated Patch the media treated him like crap so I wouldn't be surprised if he did ask for a trade..

Brandon Smillie: Pacioretty Traded To Vegas For Top C Prospect N Suzuki + Truth Told... - Brandon Smillie
Big win for the rebuilding Habs. A team that is having difficulty attracting Free Agents lands a top-6 forward inked for the next 3 seasons, as well as a 100 point OHL star and a second rd pick. Haven't had anything good to say about the habs for a long time, but this is a big win for them who gain youth, and shed their riskiest contract. |
