Flyers fan here.

What is the holdup with the Nylander signing? Is it term, money, or both?

Is the pending Marner and Matthews deals factoring in?

I see the Leafs are going to be shelling out some BIG deals next offseason giving them a pretty top heavy salary structure.

Do you see them trying to move Marleau and Horton or buying them out to clear some space next year?

What kind of trade deal do you think the Leafs would do for Nylander?

Would they do Sanheim, Rubstov and a 2nd?

Im just spitballing to see where Leafs fans are in terms of what they would consider a reasonable deal.

Thanks.

They are just figuring out the numbers, they'll get it done soon enough. As far as your trade scenario, that would be a big fat no chance in holy hell. It would have to be Provorov for Nylander.

Also, the Leafs have a lot of cap space this year, and there is no urgency in doing any trades right now for next year. They will be fine.

Horton's deal also means nothing.

For the most part yes, but it could impact them if they had to use that cap space this year(putting Horton on LTIR). From what I understand, they would have to pay bonus overages against next years cap opposed to this years, which would not be ideal.

This. As much as I hate the Leafs, the Leaf fans should be embracing the excitement. They have had plenty of lean years, now things have changed. Have fun with it guys.

Hells ya! Can't wait for the season, going to be one hell of a ride

Buffalo should finally climb out of the basement in standings and look forward to some good years ahead too!

Provorov would never happen but his value is quite a bit more then Nylander.

And yeah, that would be a big fat no from our side as well. #1 future Norris candidate for a second line center would be out of the question.

I just wanted to see where Leafs fans valued Nylander.

Do you think Matthews gets Tavares numbers next season? How about Marner? 7.5 plus for Marner as well?

Matthews will probably get slightly more than Tavares.

Agreed, on the Provorov thing, no way Nylander gets you that...although Johansen did get Jones, so anything can happen.

Not sure I agree with you. If Provorov was more value, it wouldnt be "quite a bit more" IMHO.

But the Leafs have deep pockets and that is a small issue at best.

Nylander has the potential to be a 1st line centre, and is definitely a 1st line winger.

Who knows where Marner/Matthews settles. My guess would be 7-7.25 for Marner and 10-12 for Matthews.

It's also preemptive to put Provorov into the Norris conversation

Its not about deep pockets, its about cap space. They should not put Horton on LTIR this year.

That is true, but with Couturier, Patrick, and Frost coming up soon, The Flyers don't have much urgency at center. They are very deep in d prospects.

As I said, Im just spitballing to see where the Leafs fans value Nylander.

?, the cap space is not an issue when he is on LTIR. Why do you say that?

The salary cap was instituted first in 2005 yet in 2018, there are still a number of people that don't understand what LTIR actually is. The Leafs currently sit 13.3M under the Upper Limit with Nylander to re-sign.

Yes it is, if that was the case. For reasons listed above concerning the bonus cushion.

That is why I used the word "future"

But its not preemptive so say he is the (a) #1 dman on the Flyers.
