I had so much hope and was so excited after that game. Sigh. |

.@BoyleNBCS reporting Corey Crawford was on the ice recently. That has to be seen as a positive sign. From what I heard, the Blackhawks will create a plan for Crawford once he completes his physical today. They obviously hope he passes his physical and can move forward. bold per Scott Powers. - walleyeb1
Crawford hasn't skated or played in 10 months , his injury is a mystery , kind of like a BIG FOOT SITEING people claim to have seen big foot but no proof.
I think we should all be realistic here. After hearing Crawford speak he didn't sound that mentally sound. He is done , if he were a forward it would be different his ability to regain form, but the goalie position is a whole other beast.
I only wish him good luck and thank you for his great time here.
If his injury wasn't a concussion then he may return to solid form.
Ward hopefully has 1 more solid year left and Forsberg hopefully will have taken last year and bettered himself.
We have more young bottom 6 forwards whom were trying to place in top 6 roles that don't benefit the team.
I'd be happy and more opportunist if Stan traded for a top 6 forward, then maybe we have less of a deficiency on defense. |

Watching that game is my equivalent of eating a tub of Ben & Jerry's ice cream when I'm down in the dumps. |

Debrincat-Schmaltz-Kane would be dominated in their own defensive zone against any forward line with size. Imagine playing in Winnipeg with a D-zone draw and Maurice trots out Laine-Schiefele-Wheeler against the Cat-Schmaltz-Kane line?? GOTTA balance the skill and size in the top 6. Nash would be a great fit, and if they guarantee that he's playing with 88 all year, he MAY be interested.....

Justin maybe its me i am surprised by the amount of rfa's still not signed and the amount of free agents still out there. Still hoping hawks sign or bring in a center on pto. Nick shore would be nice 25 good at the dot fits with youth movement. Who knows whats going to happen and if bowman is going make anymore moves. |

I've been saying the same thing about a DCat Schmaltz Kane line. I think that is exactly why Q has not gone in that direction and isn't likely to unless he is exceedingly desperate.
Nash from what I understand is contemplating retirement, so even if he comes back, I wonder what his motivation will be other than the money? And if I were Nash, I ask myself, why on earth would I come to Chicago of all places?

Palat is typically on the Johnson-Point line and he has some size at 6' 190lbs. JT Miller (6'1" 218lbs) plays with Stamkos (who isnt small) and the smallish Kucherov. They have more balance than the Cat-Schmaltz-Kane line would have defensively IMO. That line would score a bunch for the Hawks, but I would also expect very extended defensive zone shifts and they would struggle to get the puck back against a big bodied cycle. |

Get ready for an LTIR announcement at the start of the season. - Return of the Roar
If he was on the ice last week and is getting a physical right now (which is normal for players coming into camp) why do you assume it must mean LTIR? Crawford himself was optimistic and he has taken another step to his return. He very well could be in camp if he passes the physical. |

It's all PR. What was CC going to say? "I'm messed up and I don't know when or if I am coming back." He was at the convention when he said that. No way he was going to throw any more cold water on things.
If he just recently got "on the ice", and needs to pass a physical to "put a plan together for him", how does that in any way sound even a bit optimistic about his trajectory, let alone a return?
The messaging around him is being VERY heavily managed.
For a reason. |

I think the bottom 6 is going to be the x factor here. If one of those lil centers can step up and be a pest and just eat garbage draws (part of Kooga being there may be to help along Kamph and Kahun) and whatever line AA is on can bum slay then I think they will be an interesting team to watch.
Lotta questions on the blue line but if Jokiharju can have a similar impact that Nick Leddy had his first year, I think they will be better than most folks think, even if Crow isn't ready to go right away.
Should be an interesting group to watch. Q has more stuff to tinker with than he has the last two years. - fattybeef
Lots of ifs here.....
I am more of the camp of 6628 and letting some of these lines gel and see what you have.....let some of these younger guys, assuming they make it, get as comfortable as they can be and not worrying each night or hell....each shift who they are skating with.
Looks like Vegas or san Jose for EK..... |

If he was in such bad shape, he likely wouldn't have been at the convention in front of the press. I just don't see how him taking his physical like any other player really means anything, other than he might be ready to go. It is all just assumptions unless you have something to back it up. |

Agreed....he literally just got on the ice (per Powers and PB) and has yet to face a shot.
No question this whole thing is all about talking points and delivering the "same message" and "being on the same page"....fact is none of that matters if CC's body doesn't allow it.
BTW....that social media announcement for Seguin's extension.....that's how you do marketing. WEll done Dallas. |

No question but go back and read Bowman's quotes, McDonough's quotes, Quenneville's quotes at the draft, on UFA day, and then at the convention and then reread Crawford's. He didn't sound as "sure" as the others did. That's the point.
Again we will know shortly.....but if I were a betting man I bet he's slowly brought along and the beat writers, if they dare ask daily, will beat their heads into the wall trying to read the q tea leaves of "off ice work....progressing....etc" |

We’ll know if he passes or fails his physical soon and I agree, that’s about all we’ll know. If he passes his physical, the Blackhawks aren’t going to share much if anything more. |
