I meant Nolan found work this year. But to the broader point, I'd be fine with losing 22 and 28 for nothing if it means some of Asplund/Malone/Olofsson/O'Regan/Thompson/
Nylander/Bailey/Baptiste are playing. We all know those two guys are not the long-term answer. I'm all for trying something new.
The amount of veteran leadership, skill and useful experience they bring is negligible - jcragcrumple
Hadn't kept track of Nolan. After they fight it out in camp, I think Girgs will still be here filling a valuable defensive + PK role.

I do too. I would contest the value of that, though |

That said, from what I saw of Allen, he seemed to be on the run 2 of every 3 plays.
So, maybe from the perspective of sacks only, the O-line play wasn't rated as poorly as the eye test would suggest....but there were a ton of QB pressure plays that would suggest the eye test is more accurate. - IonSabres
Your perception isn't all that far off the mark. Peterman was pressured on 23.8% of his dropbacks. Allen was pressued on 44.4% of his dropbacks. |

Let's say Berglund and ERod are bottom-6 locks.
Let's also say they carry 2 extra forwards, and 1 extra D. That leaves 6 forward spots (4 bottom six, 2 extra).
The candidates are
Sobotka
Pominville
Wilson
Girgensons
Larsson
Bailey
Baptiste
Asplund
Smith
Olofsson
Malone
O'Regan
Nylander
From which to pick 6. Who ya got? - jcragcrumple
I like this discussion alot, thanks for posting...and sorry so late.
My thoughts based on who I want to see...not who I think they will actually pick, as they are likely married to some of yhe Vets..
Bottom 6 -
- Wilson. I do like his veteran and SC experience, along with the fact he can play up for a short period...and is relatively cheap.
- Asplund, kid is good...expecting good things from him...let him settle in this year so next year he can take off.
- Baptiste, I like his offensive capability...don't want to waive and lose him just yet
- Malone, play him at 4C rather than Sobotka...let's see what he has
Extra 2
- Sobotka, can plug him in if someone poops the bed
- Girgenson, experienced...buy time to seek a trade
Tell Pommer it's time...thank you for your service...do you want to retire, compete to play in Roch, or take the Moulson Plan.
The others, ... it is a numbers game, get and stay ready...times are a changing...force "us" to make changes based on your play in Roch |

probably telling him to learn the playbook because when peterman falls on his face in week 1, she is telling the coach to start josh or else |

"Playing Peterman was an unprecedented gamble on McDermott’s part, same as his decision to put him in for Taylor with the Bills at 5-4 a year ago. It had been 47 years since a player with as little game experience as Peterman started over a rookie who had been drafted in the top 10. But McDermott is a little smarter than the rest of us. He bowled over the Pegulas in his interview for the head job, remember?
By now, the Pegulas have to be wondering if McDermott is so smart, after all. He said Wednesday that it was his decision, while conceding that he had talked about it with GM Brandon Beane and ran it pass Terry and Kim Pegula.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Terry offered an opinion while his coach was running the idea past him. Don’t forget, he huddled with a few of his top offensive players and asked their opinion before firing Greg Roman two years ago. So there’s precedent for the owner sticking his nose into the affairs of his football team. It’s his right.
