Prior to the trade with Montreal I had them as a bubble playoff team
So maybe Vegas wins a round |

1st point: yes. Either the player or the team should identify ahead of time that one's injury/illness/recovery is going to negatively affect the team before playing a season hampered.
2 yes. 100%
3 no way. 6 mil is not what a "lets see what happens" player makes imo. - LandlordTom
I agree that the organization should try to help or step in when there is a personal issue that starts to effect work. At what point does the organization start to intrude in the person's personal life though?
I don't understand how you can reasonably think a sick person, especially to that magnitude, can have the self-awareness to end up at that conclusion?

does SJS have a pick in the first 2 rounds in the next three years? they have to go all in now because once the older guys dry up they are done. |

We no longer have to say Eff the Sens. These days they Eff themselves. |

I wonder if the Sens will be better than the Sabres this year.

True. As in Lehners case, it was his lawyer questioning him about long term health insurance triggered his guardian angel. |

Huh... I guess you're right about that. I'm surprised the NHL let them do that. I wonder if GMJB said okay, we'll just take the 2019 pick. |

I like most of your posts far more than this one.
I sense you might be speaking about something that you don't fully understand, through no fault of your own: this is an issue that requires life experience rather than simple intellectual consideration. |

More details are coming out now:
If SJ misses the playoffs the 19 pick will go to OTT & 2020 first goes to BUF. If SJ makes the playoffs (likely) the opposite will occur.
These stupid conditions will be the death of me
Also:
If Karlsson is on an Eastern Conference roster (reserve list) during the 2018-19 season, the Senators will receive an additional first round pick from the Sharks no later than 2022." |

I can't imagine being a fan of the Sens right now especially considering they don't have a 2019 1st. I'm sure they can get one for Stone at the deadline and maybe for Duchene but that's just brutal |

The conditions on the 1st according to capfriendly.
Ottawa receives Sharks 2019 1st round pick if Sharks do not make the playoffs. If Sharks make the playoffs, Ottawa receives Sharks 2020 1st. |

Gonna be a long rebuild. On the plus side for them, all of the Sharks players will be in a retirement home by then,so it should be a good pick |

Conditions remain the same on our pick. Sens get the 2019 first of SJS misses the playoffs. Sens get the 2020 first if SJS makes the playoffs. Vice versa for the Sabres.

From the Sabres perspective, I think I'd prefer the 2020 pick. That could be a doozy |
