I just think there’s so many questions,
that I’m not ready to assume anything
And you’re not counting on any injuries with those estimates it looks like
So that’s another factor
I’m still hopefully optimistic though
And i do think we are FINALLY headed in the right direction - jdfitz77
Can you point to a goal total I posted and say, "that's unrealistic"? Those numbers I posted aren't even counting surprise seasons.
As for health, sure every team has injuries. We have Nylander, Olofsson and Asplund as injury recalls though. I didn't include Guhle in goal projections.
I think people are too gun shy to say this will be a good team.
This will be a good team. |

full season of skinner trumps 55 games from kane
casey could produce just as well as ror in 5 on 5 points per 60
and no jordan nolan |

5 keys
1. eichel play over 75 games
2. casey becomes legit right away
3. dahlin is 3/4 of what advertised
4. above average special teams
5. average goaltending - homiedclown
Agreed 100%. The top 6 will be better, goaltending will be better and hopefully the bottom 6 will look different. And I like Steve Smith behind the bench. |

Last year I said that Pouliot in the top-6 gave me the same feeling as the years when Matt Ellis made the opening night roster: that means it's not very strong. Get Reinhart signed, and
Sheary-Eichel-Reinhart
Skinner-Mittlestadt-Okposo
Berglund-Erod-Thompson
Bailey-Sobotka-Pominville
Wilson/Girgensons
Baptiste/Smith
Rearrange as you like, that's a fun team. Plenty of competition. The top-6 is in good shape. It's even better if Nylander/Olofsson supplant Sheary/Okposo there.
Nylander, Olofsson, Asplund waiting for their shot.
(frank) the haters. This is a fun team. 87-92 points. 95 with a healthy season |

No, but that just counting on everything going right
And that almost never happens
For example:
Jack didn’t get 35g last year
And many of things didn’t happen last year for us that we thought could be “reasonable” accomplishments?
Plenty
And again...
none of that is accounting for injuries

There isn't turmoil. Of course Matthews wants more ice time and Babs wanted more from Matthews in the playoffs. I would be more concerned if they didn't talk at all this summer. Also the captaincy is the media trying to create fodder. Matthews is going to be the captain after he signs his extension. Toronto actually has a championship calibre team and the fans and media dont know what the (frank) to do lol. - Wissler
I thought Matthew's was skipped over with assigning the captains.
Traveres
Marleau
Morgan Reilly
Which extension? Next year or in 2026?
Then they take it away from Johnny t?
Interesting take |

If Tavares or Reilly were to be named captain it would of happened by now. I just dont think its a good idea to give a captaincy to a player about to negotiate his first real long term contract. Its leverage the team has over the player. Even if I'm full of poop, Matthews isnt going anywhere for a long time. |

Washed up, want to see something funny.
Went to the redsox / Jay's game at Fenway on Wednesday with the wife. ( I'm a yankees fan) Guy gets hit with a flying bat a few rows ahead of us. Skips off a few fans and guess who ended up with the bat?
Boss 34 wearing the Bill's hat; just days after the 47-3 beatdown.
Redsox security immediately takes the bat from me.
Google - redsox Fenway fan hit with bat. Look for the deadspin video.

You never really know with prospects until they actually play in the NHL. What if Hughes is RNH and the Leafs traded Matthews for a player that tops out at 50/60 points in his career? - Wissler
Hughes finished 2nd in the ohl's Rookie of the year voting to a certain teams 4th round pick. |
