Peter Tessier: Jets Reveal Third Jersey

Gotta love that thick white girdle stripe. And the baby blue. Simple one for the books. haha

No matter how bad or ugly a Jersey is, at some point in the future you will wish to have it back and see it again!!! This is proven by the unbelievable amount of Islander fans wanting the “sea, fish captain highlander” back as their third jersey.
Also, don’t forget at the time the old yellow kings or old Colorado Rockies jerseys were deemed worst in the league only to be loved now.

Possibly, but those jerseys at least had a unique look, this one is just kinda bland. Plus it's a third jersey so you'll only see it a few times, the other ones were the actual jerseys.

A little bland. I didn't really even like the main uni logo as it is a maple leaf with a jet overlaid ontop. So my first thought then was "Maple Jets". Yes, I know it is actually an airforce takeaway but I still see Maple Jet. The Toronto Maples Leafs, The Winnipeg Maple Jets, etc.

I always thought the shoulder patch with the embroiderd wings, the red leaf and the hockey sticks and Winnipeg Jets was actually the best logo for the Jets 2.0 period since their return. But, they left it on the shoulder and never put in on the chest. I think that this logo could have or should have been incorporated somehow as a third jersey.

The new third uni is bland, looks like that Pittsburgh baby blue uni. Whatever.

The simple solution would have been the original logo on something with clean lines. Honor the past.. this is a third jersey after all. These look like something you'd see in a rec league. I guess at least they're better than the winter classic whiteout jerseys the Leafs had last year though?

It's a business and they want to increase jersey sales. People who don't own a Jets sweater are likely to buy 1st - a more classic Jets white to wear to whiteout parties, 2nd likely an away (some will go with alternate). For fans who already have a collection of the more traditional they will really consider buying this third sweater because it is a departure and differentiates itself from other sweaters. It doesn't matter if people love it, Jets fans will buy significant numbers of it.

As an aside it also helps business by getting people talking about the team, positive or negative people are taking a look at the Jets.

Personally I'm not a fan...but I really think this is the type of jersey TNSE wanted before they were basically forced into the Jets.

I would like to see Winnipeg always on/in the logo.

Was the best line ever iced by a Jets team. However, the Connor-Scheiefele-Wheeler line is making a good argument.

Meh, nothing to write home about, but they could be worse. As has been mentioned already, the retro 80's version would have been cool.

While, we all know that you are smarter than Maurice, he wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't at least try to put a defensively responsible, veteran center, in between Laine and Ehlers. He also wouldn't be doing his job, if he didn't look for a way to get Poolman into the lineup, and that means someone has to switch from RD to LD.

Poolman is going to play. He didn't re-sign here to sit in the pressbox. Promises were almost certainly made by management to him.

A: if the Myers experiment is to get Poolman in, its still a mistake. I’d try Poolman on his offside with Byfuglien before I’d ever try the guy who can’t actually defend on his own side.

B: Little’s defensive AND puck possession numbers are the worst on the line. His offence is fading fast, too. The only thing he can do for Ehlers and Laine is drag them down.
Little needs Perreault to survive, otherwise he’s moved to the wing, or on the 4th line.

Well, Postma has decent numbers in Boston, but now he’s top pairing on the KHL’s reigning champion, so that’s neither here nor there.

Enstrom had excellent numbers, finishing as a top 5 defensive player in the NHL, and turned down multiple NHL offers to return home.

Arizona had an excellent record from January on, finishing well over .500 down the stretch. It helps that they had several core players miss time due to injury, and they had some of the worst puck luck observed in NHL history to start the season. By the time the squad was mostly healthy, it was too late. They’ll be even better now than they were at the end of the season, with improvements made at every position, as well as the progression of all their young players.
