Mentorship always comes at a cost.
- manvanfan

Many levels to mentoring. The word alone doesnโ€™t tell the entite story. Those who understand it & had it or did it do. Being a Pro is a process & very few prospects come by it naturally. The best talent in the world constantly work at their game.

Yes I read that, plyometrics is becoming a big part of NHL training, helps with speed and acceleration.

That said, you still need a strong lower body and leg strength is extremely important, it was even important back when I played. Strong legs give you stability and speed as long as you stretch and don't become to rigid. These oak trees belong to Marty St. Louis.

From the core on down & a quiet head help for speed & agility. Wasting energy holds back many prospects. Idk what Bo did but he sure as hell got a ton better.

I like Sutter as a bottom six guy, but, if Gaudette and Beagle can show well along with Pettersson becoming an NHL center this makes Sutter expendable. It'll be interesting how this year plays out in terms of the Canucks center positions.

Speaking of leg strength, Sutter is a guy I think of when talking about that as he doesn't appear to have great leg strength. He falls easily and is pushed off the puck down low, but he does use his size properly with a long reach for containment.

Center of gravity differs from player to player. Trottier is my example.

This is not new, I've said it many times, I've also stated that if Sutter is in your top six, your team is in trouble. Sutter represents everything that's wrong imo with the Jim Benning tenure, which again, I've stated is why I'm mostly not a Sutter fan.
- LeftCoaster

Top 2Cโ€™s donโ€™t grow on trees.
Patience. Let kids fit in over time.
Sutter is very good as a 3C if surrounded by other Cโ€™s. Not his job to ice talent.

You're right, I want an early draft pick defenseman to be a panicked spazzing head case or bust.

- VANTEL

I consider myself only a pom pom waver through optimism. Never thought it would happen overnight nor do i still. Open minded more so about our prospects & trying to see JBโ€™s master plan of building up positional strengths & depth. Game breakers are always my focus & starts with playmakers. D has & always will be my main focus as well as a true #1 goalie.

Never been able to watch the CFL. I liked the days where you had 8 teams that were going 6-0 and wonder which team would lose first. Last season I think only KC made it to 5-0 and they ended up what 8-8?

The whining is good but i'm still only going to give you a 7/10. Vintage could have got it to at least an 8.5 without trying.

Weisbrod : This is the first time I feel we are all on the same page finally , the first time I can remember

Boom Trevor burn ouch

- VANTEL

Weisbrod : This year we have decided to play the veteran players in the bottom six to give our high octane rookies time in the top 6, people might say we've signed them for too long but that is the only way you can get these guys in our window, unless you develop them in the bottom 6. This will help us to be competitive for the next 3 to 4 years.

Why did the Vikings pay Cousins so much money? Glad that Denver got Keenum instead.

I don't consider myself a pom pom waiver but I definitely am not in here whining and crying everyday over everything. Funny that the whiners are the ones that started calling us pom pom waivers.

I don't know where the team finishes. I think they will be around 78-82 points. Wherever that lands at the end of the season.

Yup all Sutters fault . Henrik and Dowd combined 6 goal -30 has nothing to do with Canucks being a sh1t team. It is all on Sutter

At previous training camps, you could quickly spot 12 or 15 players who looked out of place, couldn't play at a high level. This year at Whistler there's not one. Jim and Travis are going to have some tough decisions. A good problem !

I can see a gaudette-virtanen on one line and EP-Dahlen and brock and bo as the other lines in the future, we have lots of skilled wingers to gain chemistry with these combos.
