I mean the odds are 50/50 right? Either he's going to sign soon, or not.

Is Nylander at the point where if he doesn't sign by December, he sits the season out then next season becomes ufa?

Was it Trouba that was the last to hold out like this & then into the season?

And like Trouba I highly doubt Nylander does that. But, I wonder what he'd get as a ufa?

Edit: To Leaves fans, that last sentence is a hypothetical in case any of you think I'm saying he will Not sign! Just to be clear.

Nylander's options right now are sign with the Leafs or not play. Think he'll sign soon.

You know nothing you worthless piece of excrement. Keep your stupid made up garbage to yourself. Leaf fabs don't need parasites like you trying to get hits. You're all that's wrong with sports and hockey. You vulture. Scavenger. Go crawl in a corner and perish. Do everyone a favor.

The Leafs just have to all Nylander's bluff. Agree on a long term deal, if not go with a short term bridge. Leafs hold the leverage.
- MJL

He’s not in camp. That’s also leverage.
I hope he sticks to his guns.
Not his problem what JT got or what AM or Marner will get. He owes nobody anything let alone a haircut on his contract.

7/7.5m less if heavy bonus laden like JT
A bad precedent by a kid GM.

Looking forward to future acrimony if its a forced bridge deal.

Disagree.

Some of my best posts have come while/after drinking. I’m not drinking now, but I probably should be!

Nah

He'll be signed within the next 48 hours.

Between $6.8 and $7.2 mill

- classic321

Bang on the mark brother. All these people saying 6 mill to 6.5 mill thinking like it is last offseason. That is money for a player that hit the sixty point threshold once in their career. Once a player does it multiple times he is worth more. Plus the fact that the cap has and will go up somemore.

Trade him for Panarin, win win for both teams. Of course Panarin would have to agree to the contract Nylander was going to get.......6-6.5ish.
- Bullot

Terrible idea given Panarin will be UFA.

I see the usual derp from the usual butthurt fans.

The Leafs haven't even played a game yet and they've been frightened into stupidity.

Holding out is not leverage. Holding out is stupid. Negotiate in good faith.
