Well it is what it is. Game one of pre-season and a lot of kids. Islanders do have quite a bit of their regulars.

Boys look really slow, and physically outmatched. Kind of a passive approach, looks like a one man forecheck?

These are games I like to point out to people when they see some young kid in the organization that they get enamored with because of YouTube clips and they casually slot them into the NHL lineup because, you know, it's apparently super easy to play the NHL.

I dont know how I feel about these pre-season games. The Flyers have been kind of a soft team for a while and you have the scrubs of other clubs looking to make a name for themselves. The risk of injury runs high.

It does suck about Sanheim, kind of a dirty hit but he needs to learn how to handle the physical game. That was the big weakness in my eyes during his time last season. Hope he's okay. Folin and Hagg are slow neanderthals. Dont want both in the lineup, at least Gudas can skate.

Myers again, looks damn good.

-I’m enjoying watching Nolan Patrick use his strength and his body to to power his way wherever he wants to go. He may never become the next Eric Lindros but it’s nice to see early in his career.

-The spot opened on defense seems to be Myers spot to lose. I think he’s already ahead of Folin.

-I’m just enjoying a hockey game and viewing this game as a pick up game. I’m fine with the Islanders throwing hits. Let’s toughen these young guys up. I really don’t expect Patrick to play on the right half wall of the umbrella at any point this season, so I’m not taking any of this serious.
