After the scrimmage they had gardiner up on stage and they asked who has impressed the most and has best shot at making the leafs, he specified holl and sparks.
Holl being a rightie with some size but also good skater make give him a chance - burn
Interesting he specified Sparks. I’d be surprised if Sparks isn’t the back up, unless he really gets out played in preseason. |

Thank (frank) the Leafs didn't do something stupid like trade Bill Ny, Gardiner, and a 1st for Karlsson. |

Now they can trade them for Pietrangelo. - Steven_Seagull
I would absolutely love Pietrangelo on the Leafs. Still a bad trade. |

Karlsson would have been fantastic on the Leafs too...just that reality thingy that keeps getting in the way. |

Excellent response.
What else are we going to talk about on here right now? Our favorite IPA brand? Maybe discuss American politics again? Debate what new phone to purchase? Discuss the best way to watch the upcoming season with the variety of technology options available these days? |

Hyman is better than Kapanen and surely better than Johnsson.
Can't bring any arguments against that, except maybe tax rates |

Johnsson > Kap > Hyman. Maybe not yet, but in three years you'll figure it out |

Don't know why you are so certain of that.
Hyman is like a lot of other players in the NHL. A beneficiary of playing with far better talent that inflates their own performance above what they could do otherwise.
Like all the poopty players Tavares has made look like allstars, like Bozak playing with Kessel, like Burrows playing with the Sedins, etc.
It's actually rather ironic that JT was saddled with poopty players like Okposo, Moulson, Bailey, Parentau, and now he comes to Toronto and gets to play with Hyman.
I think having Kapanen or even Johnson playing with Tavares and Marner would make that line far more dangerous than having them play with "captain" Hyman. Maybe, maybe, Hyman adds a little more defensive awareness, but from what I've seen, those other young guys are pretty defensively responsible too. |

Hyman, at the same age, wasn't even in the NHL. That alone should tell you something.
Hyman, at 25, scored 15 goals playing with Matthews. Kapanen, at 21, scored 7 in 38 games on the 4th line.
It's not even close. |

Absolutely possible, but disagree.
At least we can agree that Hyman will always be last, which was the ultimate point |
