Absolutely possible, but disagree.
At least we can agree that Hyman will always be last, which was the ultimate point - UsernameUnknown
Zach Hyman at a bit over 2mln/year is one of the best 20 contract deals for all 31 NHL teams |

Kapanen is younger and already playing more games last year than Johnsson. He has a better frame (Johnsson is pretty small), better skater, better defensively too.
But definitely both better than Hyman. Hyman is the benefactor of being a guy who digs in the corners and being one of Babcock's pets. Much like Komarov, he plays way more than he should because he's a "good pro" and a bit older and more developed than the other young guys. But it won't be long before the others pass him on the depth chart. |

Also equally as good on the PK, if not better, because he has more potential to actually accumulate points on the PK instead of just defending in the Dzone. |

Kap had the weakest strength on the team last year. Not good with puck battles and can't even stand up a lot of the times. As far as frame goes, I'm giving the edge to Johnsson.
Better skater? Barely. Johnsson is also fast as (frank). They're probably 1/2 for fastest skaters on the team, so I don't see enough of a gap to warrant considering one a better overall player.
Defensively sure. But I think Johnsson has better hands and offensive instincts/finish.
Agreed on Hyman.
Like I said.. we'll see. |

You need 25+ good players with specific skill sets.
Hyman brings essential skills to the team.
From that perspective, hyman is more important to the team than johnsson or kapanen. |

Having a unique skill set doesn't mean they're better than the type of players we have in abundance.
By that logic, nobody on this team can fight therefore Colton Orr > Kapanen |

Better frame, better skater and better defense gives Kapanen better odds of sticking in the NHL. You can't really say Johnsson's offensive game is better considering Kapanen's shot and his either identical or better numbers in the AHL. |

That's all cute but 3rd liners play on the 3rd line and that's where Hyman and his 2 million dollar contract belong. |

It's true. He is a twat.
But as correct as I am about it being a bad trade (100%), he's right that I was on my way to being drunk. I wasn't then, but I am now. |

How will we know if the Sens are playing their 1st team or their backups? They could submit any roster of names and it would look like their 1st team |

Don't know why you are so certain of that.
Hyman is like a lot of other players in the NHL. A beneficiary of playing with far better talent that inflates their own performance above what they could do otherwise.
Like all the poopty players Tavares has made look like allstars, like Bozak playing with Kessel, like Burrows playing with the Sedins, etc.
It's actually rather ironic that JT was saddled with poopty players like Okposo, Moulson, Bailey, Parentau, and now he comes to Toronto and gets to play with Hyman.
I think having Kapanen or even Johnson playing with Tavares and Marner would make that line far more dangerous than having them play with "captain" Hyman. Maybe, maybe, Hyman adds a little more defensive awareness, but from what I've seen, those other young guys are pretty defensively responsible too. - Thecakeisalie

"You talk about depth down the middle, let me tell you, Tierney may not be a Matthews or Tavares, but he's a lot closer to Kadri than you may think. He really gained confidence last year. When Pageau is back that's one of the stronger 1-2-3's in the league."
I'll let you guess who. |
