Yeah, but the coach and GM would never last, the fans would revolt, eventually Uncle Terry would force Allen into the lineup and they'd be an even bigger laughingstock than they are now. It's not just a question if he's "ready" or not. A ton of rookie QBs make mistakes, it's going to happen. And in before Pat Mahomes. Put Allen on the Chiefs with the Wizard Walrus Andy Reid, and that offense and he'd be amazing. He has 2/5 of an O-Line here and a "number 1 WR" who can't catch or get separation. - Wetbandit1
He already did
Homie, u out there?
Tell me I’m wrong
At this point...
EVERYONE KNOWS we are gonna blow this year
Right?
U just make a statement saying we are gonna develop Allen more behimd the scenes first
Sign Matt Moore or someone if ya have to
Idc
It really doesn’t matter
This season is OVER |

Sure, in the sense that if McDermott didn't start him he'd be out of a job. I don't think you fully grasp just how bad Peterman is. He makes Jamarcus Russel look like an All-Pro. |

I don’t think you grasp that it doesn’t matter how good/bad Peterman is
Not when it comes to developing Allen correctly
Again...
how many wins with Allen this year?

I'm all for that, and have said so since last week when it was evident Peterman couldn't even keep the seat warm.
Wins with Allen? More than Peterman. The problem with long term thinking in pro sports is you're just going to end up setting up the next guy while your ass is unemployed. And that's a problem that owners would do well to rectify, but it's hard to justify playing a guy who legitimately doesn't belong in the league over a kid who may or may not be better off sitting and watching for 8, 10, 17 weeks, and then raising ticket prices to stay part of profit sharing which is where the Bills get most of their money from.
There's only one owner in this league that doesn't care about wins apparently, because Hue Jackson still has a job. He can afford to go 2-14, firing him after another bad season would be the most Browns thing ever, you believed enough in a guy to let him go 1-32-1 and draft your guy at number 1 and want to sit him for at least the better part of a year, and then when you finally want to get good you fire him. But now that I think about it, Jackson maybe never had the team's confidence, just get them to when Mayfield starts and hire a real coach, like a Super Teddy Nolan. But I think they genuinely like the way he runs the team. For some reason. |

But the point is for us to legitimately become Super Bowl Contenders though...
right?
So “long term thinking” should be what dictates our actions NOW,
Bc we clearly aren’t anywhere close
And to go back to the wins...
let’s just say we’d get 2 with Peterman and 5 with Allen
What difference does that make?
None imo
We all know this season is over
The most important thing now is to do what’s best for Allen’s development
It’s OK that he isn’t ready now
Idk why so many ppl don’t seem to get that?
Let’s just not get the guy killed
Get him better prepared
I don’t see how that’s a bad idea
And since u brought up the Browns...
I think they’ll make the playoffs before we do
They aren’t there yet,
but i like what they’ve been doing for the most part
Jets too |

But how do you know he'd learn more by sitting than by playing? I'm of the opinion that he'd learn a lot more by being out there in game situations than by just watching the tape and Peterman's in-game heroics...
There's been rookies that start year 1 and develop into great QBs, some sit first year and develop into great QB, and some suck in both situations. I'm hoping we get option A |

Nelson texted me early this morning, the boys are pumped for this season. He said Botts better pay the skunk or he’s going to have to step in.
The locker room is already busting Eichels balls cuz Dahlin is better than him.

No one knows, not one single person does...because it is very individual specific. The only thing that matters is Allen, not Manning, not Harrington...an example of both sides of the succcess / failure results of being thrown in early...and Mahomes as one example of sitting and learning...none of that matters.
All the pundits said and say Allen needs to sit and learn for a year or two...
Yet, Allen has in fact developed quite a bit since having been drafted...his coaches believe he is learning quickly ... he just isn't there yet ... needing quite a bit more developmental learning.
He is showing he won't wilt under pressure, leading me to believe he will benefit rather than suffer with OJT.
It ain't about wins this year, it is about developing Josh into a franchise QB. Personally, I discount any argument which is based on winning...he gives the team a better chancee to win...big f'ing deal.
Wow, going from 3 wins to 5 ...whoop whoooo!
The question is, is he developing or regressing?
I see slow development myself....keep going with him. |

I think I saw someone post last week that tonight's game was going to be on NBC Sports. Could be totally wrong though. |

There were some good things yesterday and some bad things. But overall, I don't think he played poorly. He did what he could with what he has to work with. Nothing more, nothing less.

Is Botts hesitant to pay Skunk because he realized he probably overpaid Eichel? |
