So I saw that Nylander had 2 apples last night.... did anyone see anything more of the game? How was the rest of his game? If he can crack this top 9 that'd be a huge boost to the offensive POTENTIAL. Tage making it too would be a big boost. - JVince11
From what I can tell, Nylander was engaged and playing with confidence last night. That line was very strong and guhle had an impressive game, particularly in the first period. Ullmark was sharp. Baker said Nylander was at his best in the first period. |

Just to add what everyone else said, he actually went into corners and battled for the puck too, that is the single biggest improvement... he also was pretty good on the back check( I recall one really nice one late in the game) I still think he needs a little more time in Rochester but at least he is trending up now...
If he can come full circle it would be huge for us... |

I didn’t mind the Adrian Brody one
Had that as a pretty average one as well
It’s been so long since I’ve seen the original or Pred2
Did u see “The Meg” by chance?
Not that I’m expecting much at all,
but i saw the first 15min or so & it seemed like it might be decent - jdfitz77

Nylander was the Sabres best player last night and Nylander/Bergy/Thompson was the best line. Lots of energy, strong fore check and some nice zone entries. The thing i noticed about Nylander is that he went into the corners and used his body. Obviously the strength conditioning is paying off. The other thing, we was skating his butt off on the back check. Overall, it's the most impressed I have ever been with him.
Thompson and Berglund also impressed me. On D, it was the Nelson/Guhle duo. Ulmark was very good.

I’m almost reluctant to believe this team may have turned a corner. |

This is a great time to be looking forward to games rather than dreading them. Having so much depth that we don't know who is going to rise up and get roster spots is such a good "problem" to have.
Eraserhead is hands-down the best disturbing film ever. Not disturbing in a "Hostel" kinda way, but it's a great, weird, funny slow film that makes you think about it long after it is over. |

both Nylander and Thompson are making the case to stick in the NHL, they have the size and the talent. A half season in the AHL won't hurt them, but if they keep playing the way they are it will be tough to cut them. It might also be a shot to their self-esteem if they are cut.
I would love to see a Nylander-Asplund-Thompson line dominate in the AHL for a while, but they might also have very a strong year if sticking with the Sabres and playing next to Eichel, Reino, Mitts, Dahlin.
Housley will have very tough decisions to make. |

Another two assists for Nylander. Heard his name a lot on the broadcast.
Playing pretty well for a bust...
It's almost as if players can develop after their draft years! I know it sounds crazy. Just remember who told you that he would turn it around (Me and Gerbe). Shame on all of you for allowing this to happen. |

Can't wait to watch tonight. The games, even preseason, are exciting now. My guess is that Thompson makes the team, but Nylander doesn't. I just don't think they want him in the bottom 6 whereas Thompson can slot in there easily. |

It's so much more refreshing to read then:
We're gonna be in the bottom 5 again.
Sabres need to come out hot vs the Bruins.
6-2 Sabres in the opener |

So 2 assists in a preseason game makes you guys right for thinking nylander isnt a bust at 8th overall?
Peterman was 80% passing in preseason, told you he would be good.

Yup, his play has been markedly better, his compete is better and he's finding the soft spots in the O-zone.
But I have you down as saying he's bust then, correct? Just keeping tallies |

Yeah, he masterered dread and anxiety in a way that boils it down beyond plot and into pure, distilled terror. Mulholland Drive is one of my favorite flicks |
