the fourth line is giving me some trouble as I build the roster...we'll see what happens the next few days - Michael Pachla
Bailey & Baptist (I think?) have to clear waivers, correct? If that's the case my guess is they have to be heads and shoulders above the competition or else they will start in Rochester, the next callup will be their last. Having flexibility with waivers is a premium. Let's see Bailey for 30 games in Rochester and make a decision.

Summary - I don't think they start in Buffalo. - Charlie Conway
I could see them trying to sneak bailey through waivers
oh...clearing? He's got all the things other GM's want. Speed, size, youth and some NHL games with flashes, not to mention some moderate, yet sporatic AHL success. I'm sure there are GM's who'd give him a 4th line shot hoping it clicks for him.

They have to clear waivers in order to go to Rochester, so they are more likely to make the team because of that. If they do clear waivers (and they definitely could), recalls during the season are often emergency recalls, which don't require waivers to be sent back down.
I think there's room for 1 of them. If the keep both, and they see mostly 4th line/press box time, it's really a bad situation for them.

So one of them will beat out 2 of the following Wilson, ERod, Pominville, Larsson, Zemgus G? despite being maybe, potentially lost on re-entry waivers?
Perhaps. I think they go with the NHL "vets" to start. Mid-season, a few months in, tweaks will be made, then who knows? Lots of competition.

I think once they clear waivers the first time they don't need to do it again the rest of the season...

A lot of decent players clear waivers at the end of camp. Everyone is dealing with their own roster and cap issues. It's a risk, but if he gets beat out again in Buffalo, I think there's a good chance he clears.

I like his size, speed and skills and he's done well (not great) in Rochester...however, he's been unable to get any traction at the nhl-level
