you sir, are excellent at dodging questions.

You were setting up a false narrative. I never said Babcock should put unrealistic expectations on Dermott. I didn't even say that what he said was wrong because I liked the fact that he's making the guys fight for spots even if they have an inside track. But your idea that he said that to take media pressure off them is ridiculous.

Do you honestly think that guys fighting for spots really alter their actions based upon lame responses that coaches and GMs give to reporters?

Really?

It's not ridiculous at all.. Think about the expectations for this team.. Putting less media pressure/scrutiny on Dermott is a good thing..

I wouldn't say 100% of them do but I wouldn't say 100% no either. Some might and some coaches know that so they do it on purpose like Babcock potentially doing it to light a fire under Dermott and Johnsson. You seem to be implying that 0% of the guys are listening and I wouldn't agree with that.

The best(or worst) part is McDavid leaving $500k per season, to "make room" for other players.. SMH.. As though that will help out the Oilers.

For 650K, I'd take that risk with Ennis.

Also it provide some competitions for spots.

Exactly

He’s getting league minimum and the stats say he’s been an effective player. Above replacement level for sure.

Writing him off is just plane ignorant. He signed for 650k for (frank) sakes if he gets sent down it doesn’t even effect the cap the Leafs just have to pay him 650k to play for the Marlies

16 goals in the past 3 years combined. That's the stats saying he's been an effective player? (frank) no.

Maybe he's good at D......in case you haven't noticed we had plenty of guys who can bury the biscuit.

4th line with some speed to go along with the rest of our speed...except Leivo...he's got no speed.

Not sure if you noticed...but he's only played 2 years worth of games in the last 3...not sure why you keep bolding the 3 years

I guess he should be scoring when he's injured and not playing

Atrocious career possession numbers, one of the smallest players in the league, weak, frail, injured often but he's good on D? Doubt it.

They were better off signing a guy like Brouwer; a guy with size, hits, can score and give the Leafs an element they don't already have too much of.

I'll trust the Leafs for today...he put up good #'s until he was injured. Hopefully his concussion and hernia problems are behind him, if not...zero risk at that salary.

Every guy that has size and can hit have JUST been let go from the Leafs, doesn't seem they care about that.

Come on man

He was injured. He has a chance to be healthy and play the way he can. Which if you actually dive into the stats instead of looking at hockey DB

You will find he has been effective. If he can stay healthy he can be an effective payer on the bottom of the lineup.

Or just sign Troy Brouwer like you said
