I think that's our pp1 and I like it! Was kinda hoping Goldy would slot it in there instead of a vet. Hope he stays |

Pettersson Goldobin Horvat were the best tonight. Honourable mentions Virtanen and Beiga. - thundachunk
Yeah, hard to not like Goldy I think he looks even better than the peek we had last year. |

As much as I love hating on Benning, he’s done a lot of great work building a development system that forces the coaches to make tough decisions..so many players either drafted In Later rounds or free agents that look like they have legitimate nhl potential..from the garbage Gillis left..
Can’t think of a gm that would’ve come here that’s done a better job since? Holland? |

goldobin was standout. ep40 is next level.
i liked our game. nilsson and talbot were the difference.
pouliot has a real chance to cement his spot and the door has to be open for OJ with that pedestrian PP work from hutton and stecher |

Nilsson awful. Hutton worst player in the league. EP is a beauty - CanuckDon
lol I was just thinking it's a good thing we have two-time WHC Nilsson in goal...was thinking this season will be a wash.
Whew. |

Cant wait for Hutton to be sent down. He may not clear and I'm sure we'll hear all about the incompetence... just like Franky Top Four Corrado... but I feel OJ pushes Ben out. Hutton is horribad. - boonerbuck
Can Hutton be moved to TO where he will be considered Olympic material? |

Id cut Hutton. - manvanfan
unfortunately i think its necessary.
i know it sucks for guys like him and gaunce, schaller, granlund etc but that's the point of waivers - so they can get a shot somewhere else. at least they all have their contracts to fall back on, and chances are their contracts are likely the reason they wouldn't get claimed anyway.
if that situation is likely to arrive, i'm sure their agents get the go ahead to look elsewhere anyway so maybe they can work out a landing spot beforehand.
plus there's always europe. switzerland would be tight on a couple hundred k per year |

Guarantee Van a top 5 pick. Just allow a 50-50 split between Markstrom and Nilsson. |

Id keep Granlund. He just needs better linemates. He had some real good takeaways yesterday. |

ok i'm contradicting my previous post, but the way i see it
dahlen, motte and gaudette get sent down (asset management) with granlund, schaller and gaunce competing for 1 spot. 2 if they're very lucky. 3 if injury.
eriksson horvat boeser
baertschi pettersson goldobin
roussel beagle sutter
leipsic gagner virtanen
edler stecher
del zotto tanev
pouliot gudbranson
as for the dmen: juolevi, sautner and biega go down (assett management) with hutton riding the pine.
i remember the comment a couple of weeks ago they would carry 8 dmen but i just dont think that's realistic
outside of ep i think oj has the best chance of sticking... then i picture him playing 20+ minutes every night in the ahl and change my mind completely. |

Its only been one game but if Gagner isnt going to be a PP guy. Hes lost his spot also.
I would like to see Boeser with Pettersson in a game. Lines are so fluid right now. So many combinations cant decide.
Ive said for a while 14 f 7 d.
I know some like Biega and fancy stats like Biega but I would rather him never see the ice, he has no puck skills. |

yeah i'm not a biega fan. he really shouldn't be on an nhl roster. guy puts in the effort though.
i still think gagner's a 30-40 point guy. they'll move him back to the slot on pp2 and he'll be a good foil for the kids at even strength. |

Briesbois has more offence than Hutton but OJ will probably benefit |

i really like him. calming presence.
brisebois has time. i think OJ is going to show he belongs.
i remember hutton had a couple of end to ends in his first preseason. if he could be that guy again it would be massive but he just doesnt have the puck skills or awareness to keep up with other guys.
i dont mind stecher at 5 on 5 as much. he's got some battle and better defensive awareness. |
