I've never been a Hutton fan, as most of you know, it was a mediocre showing up and until that terrible giveaway. There's guys that played better and guys that will play better tonight, IMO he starts the year off in utica or gets taken on waivers. I don't think he realizes he's fighting for a roster spot... or it doesn't seem like it anyway - neem55
Yup, send him down. It’s probably for his own good. Physically Hutton has the tools but his hockey IQ is way worse than virtanens. And virtanens is way worse than anyone else on the team. |

His only saving grace is they might have him slotted in that pp1 spot. - neem55
I think he did get some shots through last night, passes, but if he is mediocre at 5v5, does his pp ability make up for it? I'd rather see OJ in that spot if he has a good camp or see how Pouliot looks.
nice to have more options this season. |

yeah I think Pouliot looks like a good option. Seems to have some of those tools. At this point they are trying things out. it'll be interesting to see the PP with this other unit. Edler has done it for years after all. I just remember him not passing to Boeser and it pissing me off |

For sure. The line looked good overall though. You're preaching to the choir here, there's never been anyone that's disliked Hutton defensive ability more than me on this board. From day one. |

Edler looking left at BB, right at EP, then deciding to fire it into some shin pads.

We need Hughes so badly. Pouliot is our best option on the PP right now and that’s pretty damn sad. |

1000% and that's a big reason I see us climbing out of the pit next year and starting to be more of a bubble team, our PP will finally be NHL level. It's a lot of points and the difference maker in most games. |

Theory: Edler knew the Sedins were retiring, was just trying to show them more love in their last season.
Overall I think Pouliot and OJ could do just as good a job — though probably better — than Hutton on the PP, so would rather one of them take his spot. Pouliot showed some flashes last year making plays in tight, smart plays offensively, so would like to see if he can build that into his game more. |

I expect to see him on the power play tonight for sure. I'm sure he'll have a chance, we need anyone that can produce in that role until Hughes gets here. Kinda hope Saunter makes the line, I like him in his brief stint last year |

I would keep
Pettersson Horvat Boeser Goldobin Baertschi Sutter Roussel Beagle Gaudette
Leipsic Schaller Eriksson Jake
(13)
Edler Pouliot Tanev Gudbrandson Sautner Stecher OJ Biega
(8)
Markstrom
Demko ( 32 starts)
Trade MDZ
Waive Gaunce Granlund Gagner - VANTEL
Pettersson Horvat Boeser Goldobin Baertschi Sutter Roussel Beagle Gaunce granlund
Gagner Schaller Eriksson Jake
(14)
Edler Pouliot Tanev Gudbrandson Stecher OJ MDZ
(7)
Markstrom
Nielson
Look to trade Nielsen, granlund, mdz, edler, hutton and gagner.
Bring up sautner, biega, gaudette, liepsic, motte as necessary protecting waiver players.
This is what I think will happen. |
