Stop. Stop. Stop. Patrick is fine.

Lehtera wont be going anywhere he still has value as a bottom 6 / rotational player.

Weise is worthless.

Not saying he can't be a starter but he was a top prospect in a shallow pool at that time.

I do hope he plays well as maybe it will afford the Flyers a chance to move Neuvirth. Still feel one goalie is going to have to go unless this new Lyon injury is long term.

Goes to show you how the team is focused on having several prospects with the hope they have found the guy and can develop him homegrown. Hoping that one of these guys becomes a bona fide number one.

“Phantoms beat the islanders last night”
Worst tire fire of a Franchise ever! Worst team in the league in a long time!

“Patrick and konecny were quiet last night”
Their roster spots are secure! Why bother worrying about them not even on same line!

At least one of these teams has their own 1st rounder to get a chance at Hughes next years draft.

Why worry about Patrick? He should be treating this preseason like he is a veteran. He knows he has a job. He isn't playing for his life and is still probably getting the feel for things as a healthy player.

Worrying about him in just splitting hairs.

Frost and Patrick and two completely different players who rely on different things to get by.

Patrick will be fine.

I'm not sure what was more embarassing.

That quote from Dorion or that brutal interview Mark Borowiecki was forced to conduct with Eugene Melnyk.

Contract or move Ottawa tomorrow.

There are about 16 forwards that are having a better camp than Jori, who I would put in the lineup before him.

Lehtera rotates so slowly these days that he was beaten by Vande Sompel simply making a turn.

I'd put good money on RJ Umberger still being a better skater and a better hockey player. But neither of them belong on an NHL team in 18-19.

Leaving this here for Jori and Dale Weise if either of them are lurking:

Lehtera's making $5,000,000 this season and Weise is getting $2,350,000 so the sky should be the limit for them in charming Allentown.

If they pool their cash, they could probably buy the whole damn city.

It looks like the Phantoms could put one extra veteran in a gameday lineup alongside Conner, McDonald, Brennan, Varone and Knight without going over the AHL veteran limit.

Fortunately, Knight is right at the limit of the 261-320 games bracket, and Carey is nine games shy of 261.

The American Hockey League and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association have the following development rule in place:

Of the 18 skaters (not counting two goaltenders) that teams may dress for a game, at least 13 must be qualified as “development players.” Of those 13, 12 must have played in 260 or fewer professional games (including AHL, NHL and European elite leagues), and one must have played in 320 or fewer professional games. All calculations for development status are based on regular-season totals as of the start of the season.

Phantoms veterans
Conner - 786 pro regular season games (ECHL games don't count)
McDonald - 776
Brennan - 635
Varone - 516

Knight - 320

Carey - 252
Leier - 247
Palmquist - 216

How many games have you seen Lehtera play in the pre-season? How many practices have you watched Lehtera participate in?

Do those numbers get updated daily, or are they locked from the start of the season?

8 points in 62 games while being one of our (if not the) slowest skaters is enough to see to have an opinion on Lethera in camp or outside of camp. 16 is likely an exaggeration but Guys like Weal or Vorobyev, or even Laughton at center would likely contribute more. Sure Lehterä is a smart and bigger framed guy but the others are more skilled arguably, or just offer more in general.

Last season has zero to do with the statement made that 16 forwards are having better camps than Lehtera is. There is more to the game than offensive point production. We'll see if others actually do offer more in the eyes of the GM and the coaching staff.

Does anyone not realize how good a scorer Simmonds really is? A banged up Simmonds still scared 24 goals and missed two weeks, while being taken off the top PP later that season. He wasn’t taken off because he wasn’t good there. Nolan Patrick was also scoring there.

As Teddy KGB once said “Give him his money”.

Nope. Here are the skaters I would put in the opening night lineup before Jori.

28-14-11
25-19-93
54-40-17
21-MV-12
NAK
Twar
Frost
Leier
Rubstov
Lehtera
