He opted to play for German-DEL "Kölner Haie" (Cologne Sharks).

He is the only guy having played all four preseason games (two back2back's), so obviously he seems to be on the "roster-bubble"...

Ah yeah, that waiver thing. It wouldn't surprise me either. I just get the feeling they aren't going to give him a lot of slack.

Agreed. Sullivan isn't going to cut him any slack. It's interesting how similar he is to DP. It's hard to put a finger on it other than saying his over-all awareness doesn't look NHL ready. Thinking more than reacting. Just like DP, the game seems a little too fast for him at times. He's probably terrified that he'll have a defensive screw up and it's killing his offensive instincts. I can't say I've seen a ton of the preseason, but he looks less impressive than he did when he first got here.

There's a direct parallel between the two and I have to think the results are partially on the coaching staff. I think you're spot on about him being terrified.

Camp roster reduced to 15F, 9D and 3G... still on the team over those to be expected before camp:

He's ok I don't hate him nor do I love him he's just there for me. I feel like he would work best on a team that doesn't pinch with their D so much. I think it's more of a I don't think he fits on this team kinda deal.

Sprong a couple years back...comes in..lights it up and is told he isn't good enough...back to the Q. Last year..should have had a roster spot...played quite well...was told he needs to fix his d. This year...his offence is struggling prob because he was told to be defensive, and now we are hearing issues with him not lighting it up.

Sounds an awful lot like they wanna find reasons to not like him ...or not play him or trade him or whatever.

I've spent two years watching sheary trip around the ice and pot tap in goals off sids coattails...yet sprong is a bubble player?? There really has to be a little more to this story than the on ice product. Maybe sprong should date someone in Sully's family too?

This is what I've noticed. He's cheating back to the defensive side of the play. That being said he has been fine defensively.

Indeed. i think there has been a couple of stories out of camp he could at least touch on. Riikola and Sprong come to mind.

Considering the Isles just put Ho-Sang back in the AHL, what do you think it would take to get him? Could Sprong get him straight up?
